In 1993, Ba scored 530 points in the university entrance exam, making him one of the students with the highest scores in Thanh Hai. However, Ba did not choose to go to university because at that time, many students only finished high school and then went to work. He then attended a technical secondary school and became an employee at a railway branch in Tay Ninh.
Thanks to his stable job, Ba had the opportunity to go to university. He worked and studied at the same time and graduated from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Having fulfilled his unfinished dream, Ba got married and had a son named Liu Ao Han.

Mr. Ba is a person who cares a lot about his children's education. He wants his children to go to university, become successful and have a good job.
However, in his second year of middle school, Ba noticed that Ngao Han had changed a lot, and his academic performance was also declining. He investigated the cause and discovered that his son was doing poorly in school because he was absorbed in playing games.
Looking ahead to the university entrance exam, Mr. Ba was worried and tried every way to help his son improve. Instead of criticizing, scolding, and forbidding, this parent was determined to become a friend, studying and playing with his son.
Mr. Ba believes that children are a reflection of their parents, so every action of parents will greatly affect their children's perception. He and his wife agreed not to watch TV or play with their phones to set an example for their children.
He plans to study and practice with his child by attending online classes and discussing knowledge after school. To do this, in addition to studying with his child, Mr. Ba spends a lot of time reviewing knowledge that he has not used for many years.
Ba's efforts were rewarded when Ngao Han's academic results improved day by day. Ba's son passed the entrance exam to Hoang Xuyen Key High School. And for the next 3 years, father and son continued to maintain the old routine, studying together, aiming for the university entrance exam.
Ba once shared that he was more gifted with social subjects than science, he had a lot of difficulty with Math but his son was the opposite. Ngo Han was not good at Literature but was very good at Math. Therefore, during the learning process, father and son often exchanged to help each other overcome difficult exercises.
Because Ba had to work during the day, the father and son only studied together in the evening. A study session usually lasted from 6pm to late at night. As the exam period approached, Ba advised his son to go to bed early and not study too hard to avoid pressure. However, while his son slept, he still stayed at his desk to solve more math problems. There were days when he stayed up until 3am to study.
In the 2024 university admissions season, Mr. Ba also registered to take the exam. Partly he wanted to motivate his children, partly he wanted to fulfill his 18-year-old dream of enrolling in a regular university, not a work-study program.
On the day the results were announced, Mr. Ba's family was overwhelmed with joy because both father and son scored high. The 47-year-old father scored 454 points, while his son Liu Ao Han scored 625 points. Although this result surprised everyone, Mr. Ba still felt a bit regretful, as he had hoped to score more than 500 points.
This score got Ba into Guangxi Normal University, while his son excelled and was accepted into the Future Aerospace Leaders Program at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
After becoming famous for his inspirational story, Mr. Ba sent his thanks to his family. At first, he helped his son study, but for him, his son was the one who motivated him to study. He also thanked his wife who worked hard day and night, supporting both father and son in pursuing their dreams.

This parent also shared the secret to being friends with his child is not to force him to do what he wants. He encourages his child to study, lets him choose the school he likes, and tries to create the most comfortable environment for his child to develop. Mr. Ba makes many other parents admire him for his hard work and perseverance because being close to his children is not an easy task.
This wonderful father said that he had wanted to study Chinese Language and Literature for a long time, but due to his work, he could not. Although he regretted it, Ba did not regret studying and taking the university entrance exam with his son.
In the future, Ba will continue to encourage his son to complete his university program well and continue his studies if he wishes. He revealed that he will retake the university entrance exam after retirement to fulfill his dream.
