Nong Cong farmers cook 1,000 banh chung to send to flood victims in the North

Currently, flood waters are surrounding the northern provinces, people here are struggling to fight the flood, life is lacking in all aspects. With the spirit of mutual love, farmers in Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province have together wrapped Chung cakes and donated some necessities such as instant noodles, dry food, bottled water, life jackets... to send to people in the north who are submerged in flood waters these days.

Since the evening of September 10, people in Ngoc Cham village, Thang Long commune, Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province have called for wrapping and cooking banh chung to send to flood-hit areas in the northern provinces.

Since the afternoon of September 10, farmers in Ngoc Cham village, Thang Long commune have called on each other to join hands in wrapping and cooking banh chung to send to the northern provinces. Villagers, from children to the elderly, have joined hands to contribute, some wiping leaves, some washing rice... hoping that the cooked banh chung will be quickly transported to the people in the flooded areas.

People in Ngoc Cham village, Thang Long commune, Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province work overnight to wrap and cook banh chung to send to the flood-hit areas in the North.

As the person who called for help, Mr. Tran Xuan Tien (33 years old) in Thang Long commune said that after seeing the images of the northern provinces being submerged in floodwaters and suffering severe consequences after storm No. 3 passed, he and the people in Ngoc Cham village launched a campaign to call on everyone to support each other in wrapping and cooking banh chung to send to the North.

"We realize that people in the flood areas are lacking food, water and many other necessities. We want to send this gift to people in the flood areas in the North to keep their stomachs warm during these rainy and flood days and to help each other overcome natural disasters and storms. These small banh chung cakes are sent to the flood areas in the North with all the heart of the people of Thang Long commune," Mr. Tien shared.

All the people of Ngoc Cham village, Thang Long commune, Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province enthusiastically participated.

In addition to the ingredients for making banh chung, the people of Ngoc Cham village also brought necessities such as instant noodles, bread, etc. to support. According to Mr. Tien, on the afternoon of September 11, the necessities of his group are expected to be transported to Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province to join hands to support the people there.

Similar to Mr. Tien's group, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien (a trader at Minh Tho market) in Minh Tho commune, Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province also called on everyone to join hands to help people in flood-hit areas in the northern provinces.

Ms. Hien said, seeing the image of people in the North struggling to fight the flood, we no longer focused on our daily business, but only spent time thinking about plans to call for essential necessities to send to the Northern provinces, to help people have food and drink to overcome the current difficulties.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien and other traders at Minh Tho market, Minh Tho commune, Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province called on everyone to contribute essential goods.

According to Ms. Hien, on the afternoon of September 10, she and everyone called on the traders in Minh Tho market area to support dozens of tons of necessities including: mineral water, fresh milk, cakes, dry food... On the morning of September 11, the relief convoy of Minh Tho market traders set off to the beloved people of the North.

Essential goods such as milk, bottled water, instant noodles... are transported to flood-hit areas in the North.
