Dak Nong currently has 311 cooperatives, of which about 200 are agricultural cooperatives in operation. The total charter capital of agricultural cooperatives is over 267 billion VND. Agricultural cooperatives attract over 10,600 members and associate members and create jobs for over 4,830 regular workers.

One of the successes of agricultural cooperatives is to focus on promoting linkages in production, business, product consumption, creating sustainable value chains. The linkages have created valuable products with provincial characteristics, contributing to economic and social development.

Mr. Le Anh Son, Director of Binh Minh Cooperative, Ea Po Commune, Cu Jut District, shared that the Cooperative was established in 2017 with the main business of producing and trading pepper. Since 2019, the Cooperative has promoted production linkages and cooperation with business partners, so it has developed clearly.

Currently, Binh Minh Cooperative has formed 27 farmer groups, linked with 1,000 pepper growing households in 5 districts and 14 communes with an area of ​​1,420 hectares, and an output of 3,032 tons.

Members of Binh Minh Cooperative, Ea Po Commune, Cu Jut District grow pepper sustainably to help develop the economy.

“We continue to implement two international certification programs: Rainforest Alliance sustainable agricultural production certification and FSA sustainable agricultural production certification with 489 farming households, an area of ​​over 714 hectares, and an output of over 1,525 tons. We are recruiting members and associate members in the cooperative to expand the raw material area, and at the same time implementing solutions to improve the quality of pepper areas in Dak Nong,” Mr. Son shared.

Many other cooperatives are promoting cooperation with farmers to develop production. In particular, Thinh Phat Cooperative, Quang Son Commune, Dak Glong District, has cooperated with over 200 farmers to grow 800 hectares of coffee, pepper, fruit trees, vegetables, and tubers. Dak Nong's agricultural cooperatives are affirming their core role in promoting the development of agricultural production, farmers and rural areas.

Cooperatives of Krong No district join together to produce over 700 hectares of specialty rice that meets VietGAP standards in the fields of Buon Choah commune.

From the small-scale production cooperatives of decades ago, Dak Nong now has new-style cooperatives that focus on production linkages and expanding raw material areas. Production cooperatives associated with the value chain of key products and commodities of the province are large-scale and have a wide reach.

Of which, there are currently 12 cooperatives producing coffee products according to the value chain; 10 cooperatives growing and processing fruit products; 5 cooperatives producing pepper; 2 cooperatives producing rice. Dak Nong has 31 cooperatives with products meeting OCOP standards and 34 cooperatives participating in the value chain.

Mr. Nguyen Khai, Chairman of Dak Nong Cooperative Union shared: The Law on Cooperatives in 2023 is adjusted compared to 2012. That is, cooperatives are not limited by participating entities, so they attract many members to participate.
