(Quang Ngai Newspaper) - Currently, tourist destinations within Quang Ngai province are chosen by many families and groups of young people on weekends, because these places offer many interesting experiences.

Choose a place to play and relax

As a person who loves to travel, every year during the holidays, the family of Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thao, in Nghia Chanh Ward (Quang Ngai City), often goes to provinces and cities such as Lam Dong, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City or to countries such as Thailand, Korea... However, in recent years, Ms. Phuong's family often chooses tourist destinations within the province to experience on the weekend. "In the past, every time we went on a trip, we had to prepare a lot of things, from budget to arranging time so that the family could go together. But now, with just 2 days off on the weekend, the whole family can have fun and relax after a tiring week of work," Ms. Thao shared.

Ms. Thao added that visiting tourist attractions in the province is very convenient, because it is close to home, the family can travel by personal vehicle. However, there is still no shortage of interesting experiences such as the feeling of taking a boat to Ly Son Island; watching the stars at night on the Bui Hui grassland, or simply going to a homestay near the sea to have fun and enjoy together.

Nguyen Van Tan, from Nghia Dong Commune (Quang Ngai City), shared that his family members are very excited to go on vacation and travel within the province. “I often research places, historical sites, and homestays in the province and then take my family on trips and explorations on my free days. Quang Ngai has many beautiful places that can be visited and returned within a day,” said Tan.

Local tourism has many advantages, especially the ability to be proactive about time, simple travel, and low cost. This is also a form of tourism suitable for young families, with small children, the elderly, who do not have enough conditions, time, or health for long trips.

Variety of destinations

Currently, the province has many tourist attractions that not only attract visitors from other provinces but also many visitors from the province to visit and relax on weekends. For example, just over 20 minutes by car from the center of Quang Ngai city, visitors can experience rowing a boat across the creeks at the water coconut forest in Tinh Khe commune; enjoy water coconuts and join the locals in making handicrafts.

Ms. Bui Thi Mai, in Mo Duc district, expressed, when coming to Tinh Khe water coconut forest, I found this to be a beautiful natural landscape that is still quite pristine, an attractive tourist destination with unique products that cannot be found elsewhere. The coconut forest has a poetic beauty, sitting on small boats, gently drifting down the stream under the cool green coconut trees is like being in the Southern region. I did not expect that right in my hometown there would be such an interesting tourist destination.

Bui Hui grassland, located in Ba Trang commune (Ba To), is also an attractive and novel destination that many tourists in the province come to experience. Coming to Bui Hui, visitors can not only enjoy the fresh, green space, but also comfortably camp, hunt for clouds, and experience tourism services imbued with local identity. “Each season, Bui Hui grassland has its own beauty. For example, in the summer, Bui Hui is filled with purple sim flowers; in autumn and winter, the hills turn yellow with grass; and in spring, it is lush green. Therefore, each time coming here is a different experience, not boring at all,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Tan.

Sometimes, there is no need to travel to far away places, many families choose to travel and relax near where they live. Grasping this need, there are currently many homestays opened at My Khe beach (Quang Ngai city), Chau Tan (Binh Son); Nghia Ha flower village (Quang Ngai city)... with the main guests being people from neighboring localities coming to rest, relax, or simply have fun and cook together on weekends.

Quang Ngai currently has many tourist attractions, although small in scale, but quite unique. To maintain and develop existing tourist attractions sustainably, not only relying on the needs of visitors in the province, but the tourism industry and local authorities need to have specific plans and strategies to contribute to promoting economic development and solving employment for local workers.
