This is the first time the Asian World Film Festival has a "Vietnam Film Day" to screen Vietnamese films.
In particular, the movie Fragile Flower was introduced to the audience with outstanding excerpts before its official release in early 2024 in the US, India and Vietnam.
Among 100 films from 50 Asian countries, Glorious Ashes and Windless are the two Vietnamese films officially competing at the festival in the feature and short film categories, respectively. This is considered a positive sign on the journey of promoting and connecting Vietnamese cinema closer to the Asian and world film industries.
In particular, director Mai Thu Huyen continues to be invited by the AWFF organizing committee to join the jury of the short film category.
