Key projects with investment of thousands of billions of VND are "sprinting" to keep up with progress with disbursement of public investment capital.
On October 30, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Phan Van Mai, launched a 60-day campaign to disburse public investment. The campaign focuses on removing difficulties and obstacles in road traffic construction investment projects to speed up construction progress and disbursement of investment capital. At An Phu intersection, investors constructing An Phu intersection packages are also speeding up progress. The An Phu intersection project has a total investment of VND3,408 billion (of which compensation, support, and resettlement costs are VND248 billion, construction costs are VND2,317 billion), expected to be completed before April 30, 2025. This intersection is building an underpass connecting the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway access road with Mai Chi Tho Street (the tunnel crossing the Saigon River). In addition, the project will have 2 more overpasses, including a Y-shaped overpass connecting Mai Chi Tho Street (Hanoi Highway side) and Luong Dinh Cua Street with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway approach road. The Hang Bang Canal Basin Drainage Improvement Project under the "Improving the Water Environment of Ho Chi Minh City" project through Districts 5 and 6 is the focus of public investment disbursement in Ho Chi Minh City. As one of the key projects of Thu Duc City (HCMC), Tang Long Bridge is of great significance for freight transport and meeting the travel needs of people in the area, contributing to economic development and urban beautification. Previously, on October 28, Thu Duc City People's Committee coordinated with the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Works of Ho Chi Minh City to organize the handover of the site and construction of Tang Long Bridge.
The Tang Long Bridge project across Trau Trau canal is located on La Xuan Oai street, Thu Duc city, with a total scale of 2.62 hectares and a total investment of more than 741 billion VND. Of which, the construction cost is 688 billion VND and the compensation cost for site clearance is more than 53 billion VND.
The Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project, over 4km long, was decided by Ho Chi Minh City to invest in 2016, with a scale of 4 lanes, a total investment of over 1,400 billion VND but has not been implemented. Accordingly, the total investment of the project increased to over 4,800 billion VND, of which the construction cost is about 1,500 billion VND, the rest is compensation and site clearance costs. The project has a main route 25-48 m wide with 6 lanes, along with two connecting branch roads, a nearly 1 km long overpass with 4 lanes; two underpasses at the intersections of Phan Thuc Duyen - Tran Quoc Hoan and Truong Chinh - Tan Ky Tan Quy. The project is expected to be completed in August 2024. The Ring Road 3 project is a large-scale project, both in terms of length and capital, and affects the entire region in many different aspects. The total length of Ring Road 3 in Ho Chi Minh City is 92 km (if 15.3 km is subtracted from the My Phuoc - Tan Van road that has been formed, the total length of the route is 76.34 km). Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 is an urban expressway ring road, with a roadbed consisting of 4 motor vehicle lanes and two mixed lanes on both sides, with a maximum permitted speed of 100 km/h. The total investment of the project is expected to be about 75,378 billion VND from the central and local budgets.
