During the series of events on the occasion of the 13th Meeting of the Vietnam-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee held in Beijing, on the morning of September 30, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien and the Vietnamese delegation had a working session with Mr. Kim Trang Long - Minister of Industry and Technology of China.
At the meeting, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that the signing of the "Memorandum of Understanding on industrial cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China" is of great significance, serving as a basis for the two sides to promote cooperation contents of strengths to develop each side's industry.
“The advantage of geographical proximity and Vietnam's participation in a series of free trade agreements with major partners such as EVFTA, CPTPP, RCEP have helped the production and supply chains between Vietnam and China become closer, creating more cooperation opportunities for businesses operating in the industrial sectors of the two countries,” said Minister Nguyen Hong Dien.
Accordingly, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien suggested that the two sides should promote cooperation in the field of automobile industry. Promote cooperation with a number of large-scale corporations and enterprises that have invested in Vietnam, cooperate with automobile manufacturing and assembling enterprises in Vietnam in implementing the production of commercial vehicles in accordance with the orientation of the Government and the Vietnamese market.
Minister Nguyen Hong Dien also raised the issue of cooperation in the fields of consumer industry, minerals, supporting industry...
“The Vietnamese government is having attractive policies to attract foreign enterprises to invest in Vietnam in the fields of basic industries, supporting industries, mechanical technology, manufacturing industry... and even new energy fields,” said Minister Nguyen Hong Dien.
He suggested that the two sides focus on promoting cooperation in implementing three railway routes connecting Vietnam and China (Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong; Lang Son - Hanoi; Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong).
Chinese Minister of Industry and Technology, Mr. Jin Zhuanglong, said that businesses of the two countries can promote cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as raw materials, automobile industry, electric industry, and joint development of industrial park systems...
“Many major Chinese automakers have planned to expand their investment and production in Vietnam. The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is committed to supporting Chinese businesses to expand their investment in Vietnam, based on the needs of each country,” Minister Kim Trang Long informed.
He also suggested that Vietnam provide Chinese enterprises with mechanisms and policies, creating a more favorable business environment for business development.
Regarding the proposal for cooperation in the mineral sector, Minister Kim Trang Long affirmed that this is a field in which both sides have much potential. The Chinese side is willing to work with Vietnam to deepen exchanges and support businesses of both sides to research and implement cooperation projects in the exploration, exploitation and processing of minerals on the principle of complying with the legal policies of the two countries.
In addition, Minister Kim Trang Long proposed that the two sides should promote and develop industrial supply chains; promote cooperation in the fields of electricity industry, consumer industry, supporting industry and aerospace technology development...
