The workshop was chaired by: Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House Truth; Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Sy Loc, Director of the Academy of Politics; Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai, Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard. The workshop was attended by leaders of many central departments, ministries, branches, generals, officers and scientists, delegates inside and outside the Army.
In his opening speech, Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Sy Loc said that 50 years ago, under the brilliant and wise leadership of the Party Central Committee, together with the combined strength of the people's war, the great victory of the General Offensive and Uprising in Spring 1975, culminating in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, completely liberated the South, reunified the country, and ended the domination and slavery of imperialism. That victory was recorded in the history of our nation as one of the most brilliant golden pages, a shining symbol of the complete victory of revolutionary heroism, of the will that "nothing is more precious than independence and freedom", of the courage and intelligence of the Vietnamese people.
In his opening speech at the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, affirmed that, based on the aspiration for independence, freedom, and national unification of the entire nation, with a wise and correct line of autonomous resistance, our Party has mobilized the highest strength of the entire nation, including material strength, political strength, spiritual strength, and the strength of the ardent patriotic tradition of the country with thousands of years of civilization for the resistance against the invading American imperialists. At the same time, steadfastly holding high the flag of national independence and socialism, with a view of loyal and pure international solidarity, our Party has effectively promoted national strength combined with the strength of the times.
The great victory of Spring 1975 is a symbol of faith, will, and aspiration for independence, freedom, and national unification, a glorious end to a historical period full of hardships and challenges, opening a new era for the Vietnamese people - an era of independence, freedom, and the whole country moving towards socialism. This victory continues to be a fulcrum for the faith, will, and aspiration for victory of the entire nation in the current context.
To further clarify the value of the strength of the political and spiritual factors in the great victory of Spring 1975, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam suggested that delegates and scientists focus on clarifying a number of contents. These include analyzing the significance and role of the Great Victory of Spring 1975 for the Vietnamese people, as well as the perspective on an event of great international importance and profound contemporary significance; clarifying the contributions of the forces, the Party, the Government and the people of the two regions in the General Offensive and Uprising of Spring 1975.
Along with that, analyze the guiding viewpoints, decisions, strategic battles of turning point nature that led to the Great Victory of Spring 1975; point out the main values and manifestations in the practice of the resistance war against the US, saving the country and focus on evaluating lessons learned, drawing theoretical and practical values to promote political and spiritual factors in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; build a lean, compact, strong Army, especially politically strong; build a "people's heart position" in the new era of the nation; proactively fight and criticize erroneous, hostile viewpoints, distorting history, denying the historical and real values of the Great Victory of Spring 1975.
The conference organizing committee received more than 80 papers from leaders, generals, and scientists. The authors devoted much effort and intelligence to analyzing, evaluating, and clarifying the contents of the conference's topics.
In his closing speech at the workshop, Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Sy Loc highly appreciated the enthusiastic and profound opinions of the delegates, and affirmed that political and spiritual strength is not only a historical lesson but also an important factor in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today. Comrade Dang Sy Loc requested that cadres, lecturers, students of the Academy of Politics, officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard and cadres and employees of the National Political Publishing House Truth continue to promote tradition, raise awareness and responsibility, and excellently complete all assigned tasks.
At the workshop, delegates focused on clarifying the value of the strength of political and spiritual factors, analyzing the significance and role of the Great Victory of Spring 1975 for the Vietnamese people, as well as the perspective on an event of great international importance and profound epochal significance; clarifying the contributions of the forces, the Party, the Government and the people of the two regions in the General Offensive and Uprising of Spring 1975; analyzing the guiding viewpoints, decisions, and strategic battles of turning point nature...
At the same time, focus on evaluating lessons learned, drawing theoretical and practical values to promote political and spiritual factors in the cause of national construction and defense; build a strong, compact and elite army, especially politically strong; build a "people's heart position" in the new era of the nation; proactively fight and criticize erroneous and hostile viewpoints, distorting history, denying the historical and realistic values of the Great Victory of Spring 1975.
