On July 17, Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Ngoi said that the People's Committee is conducting a disciplinary process in the form of an administrative warning against Mr. Do.
Earlier this year, people complained about Mr. Do's dishonest declaration of assets. Later, the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee discovered that he did not declare according to regulations three plots of land in Ca Mau City, Khanh An Commune (U Minh District) and Loi An Commune (Tran Van Thoi District); did not declare the solar power project in Khanh An Commune, with an investment value of about 1.5 billion VND.
However, the inspection agency determined that Mr. Do’s violations did not show signs of abuse of power or authority and that the source of funds for the investment in the above assets could not be explained. Mr. Do retired in early June.
