Ms. Phi Uyen had valuable experiences when visiting a strange tribe, a woman who never bathes her whole life. Images of the tribe shared on social networks made many people admire.
Ms. Phi Uyen (from Ho Chi Minh City) currently living in Australia is a person who loves to travel, go to all 5 continents and explore unique places. She once crossed the Namibi desert, through Damaraland to the center of Kaokoveld to find a nomadic goat herding tribe . One of the reasons the woman came to Namibia was to learn about the Himba tribe, where women go topless and use clay to braid their hair. Ms. Uyen also received help from everyone to experience smoke bathing and dressing up as a native. "At first, I only planned to visit that tribe, not thinking of dressing up like them. The Himba girls helped me apply a little clay mixed with beef fat on my arms and legs, but at the last minute they decided to apply it on my face. When they were done, they held my hand and went outside to sing and dance to strong music," the woman shared her interesting experience.

The Himba tribe still lives and works in a primitive way. Both men and women wear loincloths, many types of decorative necklaces, neatly braid their hair and apply a layer of clay to keep their beautiful shape. Himba women burn tree bark to dry themselves instead of using water to bathe. Living in a harsh land with a lack of water, bathing is a "taboo". To clean their bodies, they use dried herbs, crushed them, burned on bricks and smoked all over their bodies. When she visited, she only saw women and children because the village men went to herd cattle and only returned occasionally.
Ms. Uyen applied their "cream" on her body and had trouble washing it off because it was hard to clean.

"Everyone thinks the people here will smell bad, but that's not true. They have a characteristic pungent smell, but it's not strong and not unpleasant. After applying their "cream", I had to shower three times, using wet makeup remover wipes to scrub my skin until it was sore, but it still wasn't clean," Ms. Uyen shared. Although she had learned about this tribe in advance, Ms. Uyen was surprised when she saw the cone-shaped houses built of mud. Over time, many things from the modern world have entered the tribe. In addition to hunting, the people have switched to welcoming tourists, and children wear T-shirts. However, this is also one of the places that left many special impressions on her. Every year, Ms. Uyen goes to new lands, exploring nature and customs in countries around the world. In Namibia, there are areas without major roads, often only trails for hikers with rough, dangerous terrain, so her car's tires were punctured several times. Luckily, the rental car had two spare tires so everyone could change them and continue moving.
