On August 6, Mr. Chung Thanh P. (28 years old, residing in Hung Phu ward, Cai Rang district, Can Tho city) reported to Tuoi Tre Online that he was beaten by a security guard at Can Tho Central General Hospital when he took his brother to the emergency room.

According to the incident report, at around 6:50 a.m. the same day, Mr. P. drove a 7-seat car to take his mother and brother, Chung Thanh Ng., who had kidney stones, to Can Tho Central General Hospital for emergency treatment.

When the car entered the hospital grounds, Mr. P. stopped the car for his mother and brother to get out to complete the admission procedures. At this time, a male security guard from the Northern Security Company (the hospital's security guard) came to remind him that the car could only stop for 10 minutes in this area. After that, P. got out of the car and talked to a security guard named Thanh.

During the argument, Mr. Thanh used his hands to push and hit P. and he fought back. Then, two other security guards cursed and used batons and sharp objects to hit and stab P.

The incident was recorded by a camera on a citizen's car. According to many clips provided by Mr. P., a male security guard violently swung a baton and hit Mr. P. "The security guards also dragged me to the checkpoint right at the hospital gate, cursing and beating me," Mr. P. reported.

Doctor Pham Thanh Phong - Deputy Director of Can Tho Central General Hospital - confirmed that there was an incident where the hospital's security guards fought with a patient's family. However, according to him, the incident did not cause any injuries and the administrative department invited both parties to work and reconcile.

On the afternoon of August 6, Dr. Pham Thanh Phong - Deputy Director of Can Tho Central General Hospital said that after inviting the parties to work, the hospital suspended the security guard who used a baton to beat the patient's family member.

At the same time, the hospital will also invite the director of the Northern Security Company to work, requiring the correction of the behavior of all security guards when in contact with patients and patients' families.
