On the evening of November 16, the People's Committee of Son Tay District (Quang Ngai) said that there were many landslides in the area causing traffic jams, affecting people's lives.
Concrete road to Ra Lung hamlet (Dak Lang village, Son Dung commune, Son Tay district) was broken due to landslide.
According to Mr. Tran Minh Tuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Lien Commune (Son Tay District), at noon on November 16, a hill collapsed, about 10,000 cubic meters of soil, rock and mud spilled onto Provincial Road 623, in the section of Nuoc Vuong Village (Son Lien Commune). The landslide caused traffic on this provincial road to be completely blocked.
On the afternoon of November 16, the Son Lien commune authorities mobilized vehicles and forces to deal with the landslide. Currently, the authorities have placed warning signs, advising people not to go through the dangerous area.
According to Mr. Tuan, the repair of the landslide on Provincial Road 623 is expected to be completed by November 17.
The landslide caused 10,000 cubic meters of soil, rock and mud to flow down Provincial Road 623.
Also on the afternoon of November 16, due to heavy rain, many roads in Dak Lang village, Son Dung commune (Son Tay district) were eroded and damaged. In particular, the concrete road to Ra Lung hamlet was broken, isolating 20 households here.
According to the People's Committee of Son Tay District, after many days of heavy rain, the district has 18 landslides. Local authorities are mobilizing forces and means to fix the landslides, to clear traffic routes for people and vehicles. At the same time, the authorities have also evacuated 17 households/66 people in areas at risk of landslides in Son Dung and Son Lien communes to safety.
