Vietnam eSports is strongly recognized
On March 22, Vietnamese eSports was honored for the first time at the "Glory of Vietnamese Sports 2025" program thanks to its outstanding achievements, contributing significantly to the sustainable development of the country's sports in recent years.
Specifically, at the 31st and 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese eSports delegation won a total of 14 medals, including 9 medals (3 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze) from competitions including League of Legends (LoL), PUBG Mobile, League of Legends: Wild Rift and VALORANT, which are 4 eSports subjects currently held by VNGGames for distribution in Vietnam.
Notably at ASIAD 2022, the Vietnamese eSports team also achieved a top 4 finish in the continent in the League of Legends category.
Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration, shared: "Vietnam's eSports has developed very well in recent times, it can be said that it is 100% socialized. Vietnam's eSports has also been gradually affirming its position in regional and international sporting events, especially the 31st SEA Games hosted by Vietnam as well as the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia, with much support from Vietnam.
Vietnamese eSports athletes have gradually risen to international arenas and even won many medals at prestigious playgrounds, showing that the domestic eSports scene has great potential to move towards higher-level and more classy events.

In particular, the International Olympic Committee has gradually recognized eSports as one of the official sports in the future. I hope that Vietnamese eSports athletes will seize this opportunity to plan their training and competition better and achieve the highest achievements for the country's sports."
Unlocking the potential of Vietnam's eSports
As a strategic partner of the Vietnam Entertainment eSports Association (VIRESA), VNGGames always plays a leading role in supporting and accompanying eSports, supporting many international teams; coordinating the organization of national championship tournaments to select talented athletes to represent Vietnam to compete in many international eSports events, thereby enhancing the position of Vietnamese eSports on the world map.
Mr. Nguyen Tran Son, Director of e-sports development of VNGGames said: "VNGGames' biggest goal for e-sports is to bring the sport closer to traditional sports, promoting healthy training and entertainment movements.
VNGGames will continue to invest in tournament systems, support national eSports teams and domestic eSports clubs to professionalize the team of athletes, coaches and supporting activities; thereby improving the achievements of Vietnamese eSports in regional, continental and world arenas."
Vietnamese eSports still has a lot of potential and is developing rapidly.

In 2024, Vietnam's eSports market will record more than 10 million followers, a sharp increase compared to 8.3 million in 2022. Investment from domestic and foreign enterprises has strongly promoted this field, making Vietnam one of the most potential eSports markets in the region and the world.
According to the Vietnam E-commerce White Book 2022 - 2023 published by VIRESA, the total revenue of the e-commerce industry in Vietnam in 2023 was 5.78 million USD, an increase of 11.15% compared to 2022 and is expected to reach 8.73 million USD in 2027. The annual revenue growth rate (CAGR) reached 10.95%.
According to the 2019 e-Conomy SEA report by Google, Temasek and Bain & Company, the eSports market in Southeast Asia is estimated to be worth 9 billion USD by 2025. Vietnam is among the 6 largest countries in eSports in the region, with a growth rate of 28%.
