"(Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky offers peace talks in Switzerland, but the warmongers in Washington are trying their best to pass a $60 billion aid package for Ukraine to continue the war," Mazrjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican congressman, commented on January 20.

"No more money for Ukraine! Let them find peace!", the congresswoman called.

Whether or not to continue providing aid to Ukraine remains a controversial topic within the US. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene previously stated that "there will be no more money for Ukraine" if the Republicans fully control Congress.

The US and its Western allies are showing signs of losing interest in providing aid to Ukraine as the war of attrition drags on.

Late last year, the US Congress failed to pass President Joe Biden’s $106 billion budget proposal, which would have provided more than $60 billion in additional aid to Kiev.

Several media outlets, citing anonymous sources, said that the Biden administration is adjusting its strategy on Ukraine due to uncertainty about the prospects of aid to Kiev in the near future.

On the Ukrainian side, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Kiev has no alternative but to secure the stalled US military aid. He believes that the US Congress will approve additional aid for Ukraine.

Last weekend, security advisers from 81 countries and international organizations met in Davos, Switzerland, to discuss Ukraine’s 10-point peace formula, a peace proposal put forward by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in October 2022 to end the conflict with Russia.

The proposal calls for Russia to withdraw all troops from Ukrainian territory and take Moscow to an international court. However, Russia has rejected and said that Ukraine's proposals are unrealistic.

According to Bloomberg , the discussions in Davos ended without any clear results.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the Davos talks on Ukraine's peace formula would not yield results without Russia's participation.

Last year, Russia also did not participate in discussions on a Ukrainian peace formula in Denmark, Saudi Arabia and Malta. However, Russian officials have repeatedly stated that Moscow has never refused to negotiate with Kiev. Russia said that in order to resume negotiations, Ukraine must first cancel the decree issued by President Zelensky prohibiting negotiations with Russia.

Peace talks between Russia and Ukraine have been stalled since late March 2022. Moscow said that in the last round of talks held on March 29, 2022 in Istanbul, the two sides were close to reaching an agreement to end the conflict, but Kiev changed its mind at the last minute and canceled the draft agreement.
