Despite some differences, all proposals aim at Kiev ceding territory to Moscow and abandoning its ambitions to join NATO.
One of the plans came from the president-elect's special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, retired Army Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg, a former national security official involved in the ongoing U.S. transition told Reuters .

According to this official, the remaining two plans were proposed by Vice President-elect JD Vance and Mr. Donald Trump's former acting intelligence director, Mr. Richard Grenell.
President Donald Trump’s advisers are trying to pressure the two countries to the negotiating table using a “carrot and stick” strategy , which would see Washington halt military aid to Kiev if Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky refuses to negotiate and provide more weapons if Russia does not want to engage in diplomacy.
Donald Trump has yet to convene a working group to come up with a unified peace plan. A deal between Moscow and Kiev will likely depend on direct interaction between Donald Trump, President Putin and President Vladimir Zelensky.
During his presidential campaign, Donald Trump repeatedly vowed to end the fighting between Moscow and Kiev within 24 hours if he was re-elected, but never explained exactly how this would be achieved.
The Ukrainian leader has also softened his stance on the issue recently, saying that Ukraine “ even ceded some territories that cannot be returned immediately” to Russia and would try to get them back through diplomatic means later.
The Ukrainian president stressed that securing NATO membership for Kiev should be a condition for signing a ceasefire, as this puts Ukraine in a “strong position ” in the event of further conflicts with Russia.
Last week, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed Moscow’s readiness to seek a diplomatic solution. To achieve that, the “root causes” of the conflict must be eliminated.
