The stabbing occurred during the morning rush hour near a gas station and park in the city of Holon, just outside the Israeli capital Tel Aviv, according to Israel's ambulance service.
A 70-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman were killed, according to health officials. Two others were injured and taken to hospital.

A security source identified the attacker as Amar Odeh, 34, a Palestinian from the West Bank city of Salfit who had no entry permit to Israel and no previous security-related convictions. He stabbed the victims in three different locations before being shot dead by a police officer.
"One of our officers quickly neutralized the terrorist at the scene and prevented him from carrying out an even worse attack," police spokesman Eli Levi said.
"This was a complex terrorist attack. The casualties were in three separate locations, about 500 meters apart," said paramedics from Israel's national emergency medical service.
A large police force was at the scene and was combing the area with helicopters and additional resources to find additional suspects who may have been involved in the attack, police said in a statement.
Since the outbreak of hostilities in Gaza, 25 Israelis, including security personnel, have been killed in Palestinian terrorist attacks in Israel and the West Bank, including the attack on August 4.
