DNVN - Vietnam Innovation Day 2024 welcomes many leading technology corporations. This is not only a testament to Vietnam's rise on the world technology map but also a commitment of businesses to accompany the Government, creating breakthrough values for the innovation space.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of Vietnam Innovation Day 2024 (Innovate Viet Nam 2024), Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung shared that on October 2, 2019, the National Innovation Center (NIC) was established by the Prime Minister with the mission of being the nucleus to promote the development of Vietnam's innovation ecosystem, quickly seizing the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of the Fourth Industrial Revolution for Vietnam to break through and rise up.
“This is an opportunity to promote and strengthen connections between domestic and international businesses, technology corporations, and research institutions through meetings, introductions, exchanges, sharing, and demonstrations of the latest technological solutions and innovative products in the fields of artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and green transformation,” Mr. Dung emphasized.

Innovate Vietnam 2024 is an opportunity to summarize and look back at the 5-year process of formation and development of NIC Hoa Lac - an important milestone, affirming the Government's vision and continuous efforts in promoting innovation, contributing to renewing the growth model on the basis of science and technology development.
The event marked NIC's strong transformation journey over the past 5 years, demonstrating "Aspiration - Pioneering - Breakthrough" and affirming its important role in elevating the national innovation ecosystem.
Over the past 5 years, NIC has been creating a favorable environment for businesses, startups and researchers to develop and apply advanced technologies. NIC has strongly promoted the role of connecting and promoting the innovation ecosystem, especially the AI and semiconductor ecosystem, as well as operating and developing the Vietnam Innovation Network. Actively promoting a substantive cooperation mechanism between the State - schools - businesses.
To develop high-quality human resources, NIC implements many diverse programs, including scholarships, training programs, and networking events with the participation of many domestic and international partners, especially the two semiconductor and AI industries according to the Government's policy.
NIC's efforts have partly helped Vietnam successfully put its name on the technology map when it continuously ranked higher in the global innovation index and had three indexes leading the world: high-tech import index, high-tech export index and creative goods export index.

To realize this mission, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has recently directed NIC to overcome many difficulties and challenges, focusing on implementing key technology areas that play a core role in the development of the world. Continue to resolutely carry out assigned tasks, contributing to making Vietnam a leading center of innovation and entrepreneurship in Asia by 2045.
Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, Director of NIC affirmed: “Innovation is the driving force to revolutionize Vietnam’s economic growth model. Our 5th anniversary is not only an opportunity to look back on our achievements but also a stepping stone to create future breakthroughs, shaping Vietnam’s technology landscape.”

Mr. Nick Clegg - President of Global Public Affairs, Meta Group expressed that Meta is honored to cooperate with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to promote Vietnam's AI development future and build an innovation ecosystem.

The presence of typical innovative enterprises is not only a testament to the rise of Vietnam on the world technology map but also a commitment of enterprises to accompany the Vietnamese Government in building a sustainable and prosperous future based on science, technology and innovation. Thereby, creating breakthrough values, promoting enterprises to reach out and opening up the largest innovation space in Vietnam.
Within the framework of the event, an award ceremony was held for the five most outstanding solutions participating in the Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 (VIC 2024). Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung also presented certificates of merit and commemorative medals to individuals and organizations that have actively contributed to the innovation ecosystem.
