Digital transformation and innovation play an important role in determining the sustainable development of each organization and enterprise, especially in the context of a strongly developing digital economy. Since 2020, the Government has issued the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030; in 2021, the State Bank issued the Digital Transformation Plan for the Banking Industry to 2025, with a vision to 2030. Recently, the Politburo issued Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; The Government issued Resolution 03-NQ/CP dated January 9, 2025 on the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, once again affirming the importance of digital transformation, application of science and technology in all aspects of life and socio-economic development of the country.
For Agribank, right from the beginning of the 2020-2025 term, the Agribank Party Committee issued Resolution No. 01-NQ/DU-NHNo dated December 25, 2020 on "Strengthening scientific and technological innovation, aiming at the goal of digital banking, meeting the requirements of modern banking management" and recently Plan No. 77-KH/DU dated February 28, 2025 of the Agribank Party Committee on implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Secretary in charge of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Members, General Director of Agribank Pham Toan Vuong emphasized: As a large financial institution, innovation and digital transformation are no longer options but mandatory tasks for Agribank to break through and develop. Therefore, leaders at all levels of Agribank must unify awareness and action, promote innovation, focus all efforts on digital transformation; identify this as a vital task for the entire Agribank system, not the task of any single unit.
In recent times, with positive changes, Agribank has achieved many remarkable achievements and results in the field of digital transformation and innovation. In order to improve and enhance the quality of customer service, Agribank has promoted the application of new technological solutions such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, Open API... and has deployed many new initiatives and technological solutions such as: Open SmartBank system, Payment Hub, Open API, Omni-Channel - Agribank Plus; deploying connection to the National Population Database, authenticating transactions using biometrics; deploying electronic authentication services via VNeID on Agribank Plus...
Agribank has strongly deployed digital banking products and services to enhance customer experience. One of the important strategies is to develop e-banking applications with friendly interfaces and many integrated utilities, meeting customers' transaction needs anytime, anywhere.
Agribank launched the Agribank Plus application in mid-2024, providing many new features, including fast money transfers to multiple people, scheduling money transfers, automatic bill payments, and especially other convenient services. The improved interface and simplified login process with a single username and password have helped customers save time and increase convenience when using banking services.
Agribank has been a pioneer in deploying automated teller machines (ATMs) since 2003 across the country, with nearly 1,500 machines located in agricultural and rural areas out of a total of more than 3,300 ATMs nationwide. In addition, Agribank Digital and Agribank Autobank (CDM) services operate as a miniature bank branch model, serving all customer segments, helping customers easily access financial services instead of having to go to traditional bank branches, contributing to reducing time and effort.
Agribank's continuous efforts in digital transformation have been recognized by prestigious awards such as: Certificate of Merit from the Governor of the State Bank, TOP 10 Strong Brands of Vietnam and most recently, the award for the Agribank Open API platform at the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award 2024. To date, Agribank has had 12 consecutive information technology applications/systems honored at the Sao Khue Award for outstanding information technology systems in the fields of finance - banking and digital banking. This is a clear demonstration of Agribank's strong development and constant innovation in applying modern science and technology to banking operations.
With the goal of becoming a modern bank, Agribank is continuing to promote the digital transformation process, considering it the key to expanding its service network, improving product quality and serving customers more effectively. Also within the framework of the Conference, delegates listened to Dr. Le Hung Cuong - Deputy General Director of FPT Digital, an expert in the field of digital transformation, share updated information on technology trends and digital transformation in the banking sector such as AI, security, cloud computing, the digital transformation process of commercial banks in general and Agribank in particular.
The conference also heard presentations from units at the Headquarters on: Digital transformation in providing products and services for corporate customers; some technological solutions to improve safety and security for digital transformation; bank cards and the future in the digital age; innovative solutions to develop digital payment systems and promote cashless payments, etc.
At the Conference, Agribank Deputy General Director Hoang Minh Ngoc announced and launched a breakthrough action program for developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation at Agribank; thoroughly grasping the spirit of Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo and Resolution No. 03 of the Government, focusing all efforts on promoting innovation, science and technology development and digital transformation at Agribank.
