According to Xinhua News Agency on October 2, in a congratulatory message sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that long-standing good-neighborly friendship, comprehensive strategic coordination and mutually beneficial cooperation have become the most essential features of bilateral relations between China and Russia.

"China and Russia, both major countries in the world and important emerging markets, are each other's largest neighbors," Xinhua quoted a statement by the Chinese president as saying. "Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 75 years ago, the two sides have continuously improved the quality of bilateral relations based on the fundamental interests of the two countries and two peoples and the shared historical experience."
China's CGTN television channel quoted Russian President Vladimir Putin as saying, "Three-quarters of a century ago, our country was the first in the world to recognize the People's Republic of China."
"The close and mutually beneficial relations between Russia and China have stood the test of time and currently Russia-China relations are at the highest possible level in history," the Russian President stressed.
Mr. Putin also added that China and Russia continue to develop active cooperation involving a wide range of political, trade, economic, scientific and technological issues, "effectively cooperate on international and regional issues, and are jointly committed to building a fair and multipolar world."
