(Dan Tri) - The Kremlin said that Russia will take actions to show goodwill towards Ukraine in the near future, following the exchange between President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.

On March 18, President Putin and President Trump had a phone call that lasted more than 2 and a half hours. The two leaders discussed a number of topics, focusing on the situation in Ukraine.
The Kremlin said that as a show of goodwill towards Ukraine, Russia will return 23 seriously wounded Ukrainian soldiers to Kiev. In addition, the two countries also agreed to exchange 175 prisoners each.
Mr Putin has agreed to Mr Trump's proposal that Russia and Ukraine stop attacking each other's energy infrastructure for 30 days and has ordered the Russian military to enforce it.
The two leaders agreed that the peace process would also begin with technical talks on implementing a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea, moving towards a complete ceasefire and permanent peace.
The Kremlin said the two leaders had a "detailed and frank exchange of views" on Ukraine.
During the phone call, Mr Putin said the solution to the conflict must be “comprehensive, sustainable and long-term”, taking into account Russia’s security interests and the root causes of the war.
The Kremlin said Mr Putin had raised “important points” about monitoring a potential ceasefire with Ukraine and preventing Kiev from using it to mobilise more troops and rearm.
"The key condition for preventing the escalation of the conflict and moving towards a political and diplomatic settlement of the war is a complete cessation of foreign military aid and intelligence supplies to Kiev," the Kremlin said.
The two leaders expressed a shared interest in normalizing US-Russia relations because of their special responsibility for ensuring security in the world.
Mr Putin and Mr Trump discussed a number of ideas for developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the economic and energy sectors. Several areas were considered in which the US and Russia could establish cooperation.
The White House later issued a statement confirming the information provided by Russia. According to the US side, both leaders agreed that this conflict must end with a lasting peace. They also stressed the need to improve bilateral relations between the US and Russia.
The United States stressed that this conflict should never have started and should have ended long ago through sincere and good-faith peace efforts.
The two leaders also agreed that a future with improved bilateral relations between the United States and Russia would bring many great benefits. This includes huge economic deals and geopolitical stability when peace is established.
The Kremlin also said Mr Putin had “responded constructively” to the proposal for a maritime ceasefire, and further talks on the issue were expected.
