On January 25, Peking University announced the list of successful candidates for the 2024 Physics Talent Training Program . Liu Jiayi is the only junior high school student in the country on the list. At the same time, Jiayi is also the first student in Chongqing to be directly admitted to university at the age of 14.

Currently, Gia Diec is a 9th grade student at Chongqing 8 Middle School (Hongfan campus, China). Sharing his feelings, the male student was surprised to be admitted to the talent training program of Peking University. Because each year this program only selects the 100 best students from all over the world.

To get into Peking University, Gia Diec had to go through 2 rounds of exams: Round 1 was a professional test, round 2 was a direct interview and a physical exam.

For many students, Physics is an abstract and boring subject, but Gia Diec likes it. For male students, this is an interesting subject, both testing understanding of Physics models and enhancing analytical skills.

Gia Diec's passion started in 7th grade, through many stories from teachers about famous physicists. By 8th grade, the male student started joining the school's Physics enthusiast group.

Secrets to learning Physics well

Sharing his method of learning Physics, the 14-year-old freshman said that first, he must clarify the basic concepts and formulas: "We need to know where the concepts and formulas come from, what they are used for, and what their qualitative nature is." For formulas, Gia Diec does not memorize, but often makes inferences to remember. This way, the male student can remember for a long time, and in case he forgets, he will make inferences himself.

The male student noted that when encountering uncertain problems during the learning process, he needed to find a way to solve them and not be lazy. The new student said that solving problems by himself is a test of his will, qualities and abilities.

Similar to the common feeling of many students, Gia Diec admitted that solving exercises and deducing formulas is relatively boring. "I often encourage myself that solving difficult problems is a great thing. When I do, I am proud and want to solve more difficult problems."

In their free time, male students discuss issues with friends to inspire each other and fill in knowledge blind spots.

Eternal Love for Physics

As the male student's companion, Mr. Chu Nhuệ - the school's Physics team teacher, is looking forward to this result. "Gia Diec has an undying love for Physics," the teacher said.

Sharing about his student, Mr. Nhue said that at first he did not pay attention to Gia Diec, but after the lecture on the Law of Conservation of Momentum , the male student came to him and said: 'I see the formula in the textbook is correct, but the solution does not seem suitable'. After the conversation, Mr. Nhue was impressed with the male student.

Whether he is going out, having dinner or waiting for a flight, the male student always brings along a Physics book to read when he has time. In the past, in addition to focusing on preparing for the Peking University Young Talent Selection Exam, Jia Yi also participated in discussions and proposed new ideas related to the Maxwell Distribution - Simulation in Physics issue .

Mr. Ma Luc - Gia Diec's homeroom teacher, said: "In addition to being diligent, he also has a good habit of often asking me: 'Do you need to improve anything in your studies?'"

As for himself, the male student revealed that he was worried that he was not as good as his friends: "At the beginning of 9th grade, I did not have a good grasp of the subjects because of the difficult knowledge. I was worried and afraid that I would fall behind." At this time, Mr. Ma encouraged and asked Gia Diec to follow his own learning pace, not to rush. Later, the male student regained his composure, his grades gradually improved, and he was ranked at the top of the class.

In March, Jia Yi will enroll and officially become a freshman at Peking University at the age of 14. The male student revealed that although he is worried, he still encourages himself that there will be no problems.

12-year-old boy admitted directly to university EGYPT - 12-year-old Yahya Abdel Nasser Muhammad Elnajaar, a 6th grader at a primary school in Damietta province (Egypt), was admitted directly to the Zewaii Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation (ZC).
