MEN HAVE MANY ADVANTAGES
Managers said that not only women but also men have strengths and advantages when pursuing the career of preschool teachers. Ms. Luong Thi Hong Diep, Head of the Preschool Education Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, said that the teachers' strengths are that they are good at technology, creative, always think of new things to teach students, diligent in taking care of their work, keeping very neat records, and making great strides in their careers. Ms. Diep informed: The whole city has 21 preschool teachers, 8 of whom are managers, of which one is a manager at the Department of Education and Training level, 7 are principals and vice principals. That is a very high rate.

"If they are taught by preschool teachers, children will develop very well in many aspects. Among the 13 teachers who are directly teaching and caring for children at public preschools in Ho Chi Minh City, I know 3 young teachers who are excellent preschool teachers at the city level. They are also very promising factors for the future management team," Ms. Diep commented.
At the same time, Ms. Diep said that in reality, preschool teachers not only have the strength to develop a stable career, but in family life, they also have a prosperous home, their children are well cared for and educated. At home, teachers are the ones who share with their wives even the smallest things, take care of and instruct their children in their studies, and build a happy family.
PASSION BIG ENOUGH WILL OVERCOME BARRIERS
Mr. Luong Trong Binh, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of District 3 (HCMC), who has worked in preschool for 34 years, said that there are a number of reasons why men are still hesitant about the profession of preschool teacher. Because this job is not only teaching children, organizing children's play but also having to take care of many details, from feeding children, watching children sleep, taking care of children going to the toilet, soothing crying children, making toys, teaching aids... Therefore, if they have a passion for teaching, many men choose general education - not preschool, to be able to devote themselves more fully to teaching. However, although few, there are still preschool teachers who are doing their job very well.
"It doesn't matter if you are male or female. What matters is that you have enough passion for the job, you try, work and study, and be creative, then you will naturally develop in the job, you will be recognized. Just like women, there are a few who are still successful in the mechanical and heavy engineering profession, because you have enough passion, creativity, and effort," said Mr. Luong Trong Binh.
According to Mr. Binh, the secret to success in the preschool teaching profession, whether male or female, is "to love the profession you choose, to love the preschool children, to love teaching, to love taking care of the children, to love how to soothe the children, to love how to organize playtime for the children, to clean the children...".
"Society is increasingly progressing, there is a new generation of young people, progressive, modern, you do not discriminate between gender when choosing a career. Many of you are now choosing careers that our grandparents said were not for that gender, but you are passionate enough and still commit. I think in the future there will be more men choosing to be preschool teachers. The more men choose, the more successful the preschool teaching profession will be," Mr. Binh commented.

NEED OPEN VIEW
According to Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Quynh Dao, Head of the Department of Preschool Education, Saigon University, preschool teachers are dynamic, strong, and demonstrate their gender's strengths in educating and caring for children. In particular, the male gender - a minority in preschools today (the majority are female teachers and staff) is also an advantage that makes schools want to recruit male teachers.
Dr. Quynh Dao said that preschool education has policies of free tuition and subsidized living expenses to attract students. However, to eliminate gender prejudices more strongly when choosing this field of study is also a matter of admissions counseling, gender communication work of the whole society, and also the problem of how to improve salaries, income, treatment mechanisms, and attract preschool teachers in general.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Song Tra, founder of the S Project Sex Education Project and Director of TH Education and Training Company Limited, said: "The most important thing when choosing a career is that each person should make a correct assessment to make the right choice for themselves. When we have correct assessments, we will certainly have a way to protect our choices and follow the chosen path."
At the same time, according to Ms. Tra, it is necessary to change the prejudice that male preschool teachers will not be good at raising children. Society needs more open, understanding and encouraging views so that men can boldly pursue this profession if they really love it. It is necessary to build activities to bring more openness and understanding among generations so that people understand that: Choosing a career does not depend entirely on gender.
At the same time, agencies, departments, and educational institutions should create experiential campaigns and encourage you to enter groups of professions that are considered unsuitable for your gender. For example, open programs to encourage men to study preschool teaching, or women to go into programming, engineering, car repair, aircraft repair, etc.
