Washington will continue to supply Israel with aviation bombs, an activity that was suspended due to the Jewish state's military operations in Rafah, the southernmost Gaza Strip, according to Axios, citing sources in the US government.

According to Axios, Israel will receive 1,700 500-pound bombs in the next two weeks, when it completes its operation in the southern Gaza Strip. The decision was made after secret talks held in Washington last week.

Axios believes that such a move by the US shows that Washington is no longer too interested in de-escalating conflicts in the region, especially when Israel is preparing for military operations in the north of the country and could spread to Lebanese territory.

On May 9, US President Joe Biden threatened to stop supplying Israel with air bombs and artillery shells if the country entered the city of Rafah. At the same time, Joe Biden promised that Washington would continue to transfer air defense weapons and other defensive weapons to Israel.

Meanwhile, NBC News reported that the US military has begun dispatching forces to Lebanon and Israel to evacuate their citizens in case the confrontation between Israel and the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon escalates.

Additionally, the US is in talks with allies in the Middle East to coordinate evacuation operations and any possible coalition military action.

Earlier, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that a full-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah would have catastrophic consequences for the entire Middle East. It is reported that Austin's comments were also addressed to Israeli leaders.

In connection with the conflict, anti-government protesters in Israel marched to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's home, setting fires on the street outside and calling for his resignation.

About 5,000 protesters marched from Chords Bridge to Azza Street in Jerusalem, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence is located, on June 27. They held anti-government banners, blaming the Israeli Prime Minister's administration for the lack of progress on the Gaza hostage rescue deal and its poor handling of the war.

"We have been abandoned. Let's hold elections now," protesters chanted, waving flags and beating drums in front of police barricades.

Einav Tzangauker, whose son Matan is being held in Gaza, accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of abandoning the hostages and only caring about winning the Gaza Strip and maintaining power: " There will be no ceasefire or reconstruction under the Netanyahu government ."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party issued a statement condemning the protest: " The incitement against the Prime Minister has crossed another red line. It is a sign that bad things could be coming ."

The Jerusalem protest did not see any serious clashes and police did not use water cannon to control the crowds as they have done in more noisy protests.

About 3,000 protesters gathered outside the Israeli Prime Minister's home in the western Israeli town of Caesarea on the same day. "How much blood will be shed until you leave your seats," the protesters chanted, demanding the hostages be returned. Smaller protests also took place in other cities across the country.

Protests have become more frequent since Israel's war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip erupted and cross-border fighting with Hezbollah in Lebanon threatened to escalate. The protests have not changed the political landscape, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government still controls a stable majority in parliament.
