Gazzetta dello Sport said MU expected to earn 50 million pounds if Hojlund left. Despite owning Romelu Lukaku, Napoli coach Antonio Conte still wants to welcome another potential striker like Hojlund to nurture bigger ambitions.
Napoli are also considering sending Victor Osimhen to MU in the opposite direction to reduce costs. Currently, Osimhen is on loan at Galatasaray until the end of this season. The Nigerian striker is not in Conte's plans.
Despite Napoli's interest, Hojlund said he is still happy at MU. The Danish international shared: "This is the club I have always dreamed of playing for. I am also very happy to work with Ruben [Amorim]. He is an interesting character. I am focusing on the task with Ruben because the upcoming project of MU is very interesting. Before that, Erik [ten Hag] was also one of the reasons why I moved to MU."
Hojlund has scored just eight goals in all competitions this season, including three in the Premier League. The £72m signing has failed to live up to expectations. His inconsistent performances have put him on the list of players who could leave this summer.
Coach Amorim is expected to make many changes to the squad, with around 10 players possibly being released. The "Red Devils" do not have a large budget to recruit players, so they are forced to sell some if they want to welcome new players.
