Speaking after the launching ceremony, the new President of the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals in Belgium and Luxembourg, Phung Quoc Tri, said that the launching ceremony of the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals in Belgium and Luxembourg is an important milestone in the journey of connecting and contributing to the Vietnamese intellectual community in two advanced European countries. Immediately after the decision to establish the Association, it received the participation of more than 150 experts and intellectuals and this number will increase in the coming time.
Informing that the Association was established with the mission of connecting knowledge, promoting sustainable development and realizing the great potential for cooperation between Vietnam and the EU through key areas, Mr. Phung Quoc Tri emphasized that the Association's activities are based on four pillars. The first is digital transformation and high technology. The second is renewable energy, nuclear energy and green technology. The third is healthcare and biotechnology and finally education, supporting international integration and businesses.
From the above pillars, the Association sets out the main goals of becoming a forum for information and exchange of ideas and knowledge among members on science and technology, innovation, education, economics and culture; promoting collaboration and mutual support in scientific research, technology transfer, application of innovations into practice, business and startups; promoting exchanges and cooperation in science and technology, innovation, education, economics and culture between Vietnam and Belgium, Luxembourg and Europe through research projects, cooperation programs and new technology transfer.
"With the message 'Promoting cooperation - Expanding knowledge - Connecting the future', we are committed to building a strong intellectual community, bringing global knowledge to Vietnam and promoting the image of a dynamic Vietnam to the world. The companionship of the Embassy and the support from the Government are always the driving force for us to realize these goals," said Mr. Phung Quoc Tri.

At the seminar with Vietnamese financial experts in Luxembourg, more than 10 Vietnamese financial experts in Luxembourg discussed and shared major issues related to the construction and operation of financial centers, including the development of soft infrastructure for financial centers; resolving international disputes in financial centers; building and improving the legal environment for financial center development; applying AI in sustainable development of financial services; potential for financial cooperation and green financial development between Vietnam and Luxembourg; training high-quality human resources for the financial sector; developing fund management services; managing cryptocurrency flows, etc.
Members of the working delegation, including leaders of ministries, branches, and localities: Finance, State Bank, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, State Securities Commission, etc., also discussed with experts many issues related to Vietnam's mechanisms and policies on building and developing financial centers in Vietnam.

Congratulating the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals in Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as being pleased to meet the Vietnamese intellectuals in Luxembourg and Belgium, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh highly appreciated the Vietnamese community in Luxembourg and Belgium, especially the intellectuals and experts who have always strived to research, study, work and have a heart towards their homeland, actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.
Many practical issues on economic development and implementing the policy of building financial centers in Vietnam were also mentioned by experts with many ideas, recommendations, suggestions, and contributions to create a very practical discussion, close to the actual situation of Vietnam.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said that our country is in the process of drastic and comprehensive preparations to enter a new era, an era of national development. To prepare for the country to accelerate and break through, to rise strongly, to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers, this year, the target is to achieve a minimum growth rate of at least 8% and from next year onwards, a minimum of 10%.
We aim to become a developed industrial country by 2045. This is a very high political determination of our Party, State and people.
To become a developed industrial country, we need to synchronously implement tasks and solutions, especially make great efforts in promoting the development of science and technology and innovation; the Party has issued Resolution 57 on science and technology, which is considered a boost for the economy, for growth and development.
At the same time, we must also seek new growth drivers, such as chips, semiconductors, AI, nuclear energy, digital transformation, etc. Along with that, we must renew traditional growth drivers; promote the development of the private economic sector; reorganize the economic space through the rearrangement of administrative units, along with stronger decentralization and delegation of power to all levels of government;...

Along with the opinions expressed at the seminar, the First Deputy Prime Minister hoped that experts, with their practical experience, scientific knowledge, qualifications, capacity and understanding, would continue to develop their creative ideas about building and developing financial centers in Vietnam to send to the Ministry of Finance and relevant agencies, thereby contributing ideas and opinions to the policy-making process, especially issues on perfecting mechanisms and policies for developing international financial centers; good international experiences, training high-quality human resources for financial centers;...
Even experts can return home, the country always welcomes experts to directly contribute to the process of building, operating and developing international financial centers and in the near future, two centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang will be established and put into operation.
