The cockpit window on the plane was cracked.

The Mainichi Shimbun newspaper reported on December 28 that a Vietnam Airlines Boeing 787 with a cracked cockpit window landed safely at Narita Airport, east of Tokyo (Japan) on December 26.
Accordingly, the plane from Ho Chi Minh City to Narita was flying at an altitude of 12,300 m, about 50 km east of Tokunoshima Island in Japan's Kagoshima Prefecture, around noon, when the front left cockpit window cracked.

The plane continued its flight and landed on runway A at Narita Airport at 1:31 p.m., according to the Narita Airport Office under Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
All 94 passengers and crew on board were uninjured. After landing, runway A was closed for 3 minutes for a safety check and no abnormalities were found. The return flight from Narita to Ho Chi Minh City was canceled.
The plane landed safely at Narita airport.
