A Delta Air Lines (US) plane carrying 80 people crashed while landing and flipped over at a Canadian airport, injuring at least 18 people.
Flight 4819 crashed while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport at around 2:45 p.m. on February 17. The plane flipped over on the runway. All 80 people on board, including 76 passengers and four crew members, were evacuated. At least 18 people were injured, three of them seriously, CNN reported.

Delta Air Lines said injured passengers were taken to hospitals near the crash site. The airline later canceled flights to and from Toronto Pearson Airport on February 17.
Airport officials said they were aware of the crash and had dispatched emergency services to the scene. All flights to and from Toronto Airport resumed normal operations after a short delay.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) will lead the investigation into the cause of the incident. Dozens of flights at Toronto Pearson Airport were delayed due to bad weather before the crash. The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said it would send a team to assist in the investigation. Local police said they were currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and why the plane flipped.
The pilot of the rescue helicopter said that at the time of the accident, they saw the Delta Air Lines plane flip over and burst into flames, while the crew helped evacuate passengers. The incident occurred at a time when Toronto recorded strong winds and snow on February 17.
