John Nelson, a passenger on the flight, said he did not notice anything wrong with the plane before the crash. However, he said that when the plane landed, the wind was very strong and there was a lot of snow on the runway.
"The plane hit the runway very hard. It hit the ground and tilted to one side," he said, adding that he saw flames coming from the left side of the plane.
Mr Nelson was sitting in the 10th row of the plane, in front of the wings. When the plane stopped, he said people started screaming to get out. "It was chaos," he said.
He and other passengers were hanging upside down in their seats. Some were able to unbuckle their seat belts and escape. "We tried to get out of there as quickly as possible. Even now I can smell the fuel from the plane," he said.
Another passenger named Pete Koukov also said that the plane hit the runway hard when landing and for a moment, everyone on the plane "hung upside down like bats".
He and some others were able to escape on their own, while others needed help from rescuers.
Authorities are investigating to clarify the incident.
