Hau Giang Provincial Front continues to innovate, carrying out 4 breakthrough tasks

Do a good job of social security

According to the political report of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hau Giang province, over the past 5 years, the Front at all levels in the province has strongly promoted the spirit of great solidarity, strengthened social consensus, constantly innovated the content and methods of operation, made efforts to implement, complete and exceed the targets and contents of the Resolution of the 9th Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress, making an important contribution to the overall development of the province.

Notably, the province has implemented new construction and expanded more than 515 models and good practices, associated with the criteria of building new rural areas and civilized urban areas. In particular, there are more than 75% of self-management models in residential areas, typically self-management models on security and order, environmental protection, poverty reduction support, etc.

100% of the Front Working Committee has consulted with member organizations on the assignment of support to poor households with addresses, roadmaps and many specific and practical tasks from the grassroots level; replicating 169 livelihood support models. From there, contributing to helping 2,649 poor households escape poverty (reaching 264.9% of the Resolution target), with a total amount of more than 25 billion VND.

Responding to the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind" launched by the Prime Minister, every year the Fatherland Front at all levels presides over the launch of the Peak Month "For the Poor" and coordinates the organization and launch of many support programs, care and help for the poor and households in difficult circumstances, attracting the participation of organizations, individuals and benefactors inside and outside the province.

The results of the past term were: the “For the Poor” Fund and the “Social Welfare and Security” Fund mobilized more than 1,335 billion VND (reaching 267% of the Resolution target), built and repaired over 4,534 solidarity houses, built hundreds of welfare works, helped thousands of families develop production, provide medical examination and treatment, and poor students have the opportunity to go to school.

Together with the Front, member organizations in Hau Giang have also had many programs of activities, calling for and mobilizing society to care for and help union members and members in difficult circumstances, people infected with Agent Orange/dioxin, people with disabilities, orphans and vulnerable people in society, families affected by the Covid-19 epidemic... together with the province to carry out social security work well, taking care of the poor. Thereby, contributing to reducing the poverty rate from 5.11% (in 2019) to 3.29% (by the end of 2023).

With the spirit of "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Development", the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hau Giang province, term 2024-2029, sets the goal of continuing to innovate the content and methods of operation according to the motto "Concentrated form, practical content, drastic action, real efficiency" to meet the requirements of gathering the great national unity bloc in the current period. Promote the implementation of patriotic emulation movements, campaigns, models of mutual assistance in economic development, effective economic models, associated with the general development plan of the province.

There are 4 breakthrough tasks. These are: Building at least 75 practical and effective “Livelihood Support” models chaired and coordinated by the Front according to the “3 common” method, supporting the livelihoods of at least 2,000 poor households and households in difficult circumstances to escape poverty.

The second breakthrough is to mobilize the "For the Poor" Fund and the "Social Welfare" Program at all levels to reach at least 900 billion VND, promptly supporting construction for people with new problems, contributing to the completion of "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" in the province.

The third breakthrough is that each commune, ward and town Front unit builds at least 5 new model flower routes, each route is at least 1,000 meters long, chaired by the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The fourth breakthrough is to improve the quality and capacity of the Front's staff at all levels, striving for 100% of specialized staff to meet the requirements on standards, capacity, and quality of activities; every year, 90% or more of the Front's units at the commune level and the Front's Working Committee in residential areas are classified as having completed their tasks well.

Many models bear the unique mark of Hau Giang

Speaking at the congress, Vice President To Thi Bich Chau was delighted to see that the appearance of Hau Giang province has improved a lot. People's lives have been significantly improved both materially and spiritually thanks to the tireless and enthusiastic contributions of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the province and its member organizations, of each cadre working for the Front, union members, association members and citizens of Hau Giang.

Vice President To Thi Bich Chau acknowledged and highly appreciated the preparations for the congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hau Giang province. At the same time, she pointed out some of the most outstanding achievements and results to both commend and encourage further investment.

In particular, Vice Chairwoman To Thi Bich Chau was impressed by the results that the province has achieved in association with the "Solidarity and Creativity" movement with many very special models, highly creative and applicable, serving the daily practical needs of the people.

In particular, the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the province coordinated with the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations to receive many new solutions and ideas to participate in the movement with nearly 300 authors in many fields, with 2 initiatives published in the Vietnam Golden Book of Creativity in 2021. It is from these specific and practical activities that have contributed to building the homeland with the Party, government and people; helping to reduce the poverty rate from 5.11% (2019) to 3.29% (2023).

Also according to Vice President To Thi Bich Chau, one of the bright spots that the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province has directly and coordinated very well is to build and maintain 73 Overseas Vietnamese Relatives Clubs; build and replicate new, practical, and outstanding creative models and methods that bear the mark of Hau Giang such as: Model "Overseas Vietnamese relatives follow poor students to finish school"; "Overseas Vietnamese relatives help poor households"; "Overseas Vietnamese unite to help each other sustainably eliminate poverty", "Overseas Vietnamese relatives with the work of building great solidarity houses", "Overseas Vietnamese help poor households and poor students"; model "Overseas Vietnamese accompany the Fatherland Front and localities to take care of social security"; mobilize overseas Vietnamese to contribute more than 40 billion VND to charity and build public works.

“This is one of the points I want to emphasize and hope that you will continue to promote to realize the policies of the Party, the State, the guidance of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, contributing to narrowing the geographical gap between overseas Vietnamese and the homeland, mobilizing resources from the international community; helping overseas Vietnamese to better understand the situation in the country, increase their confidence in the leadership of the Party and, more importantly, join hands to build Hau Giang province, build the country to become increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized”, Vice President To Thi Bich Chau said.

Besides, Vice Chairwoman To Thi Bich Chau suggested that the Congress focus on discussing, researching, and identifying solutions to promptly and thoroughly overcome a number of shortcomings, limitations, and difficulties pointed out by the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province in the Political Report.

In particular, Vice President To Thi Bich Chau suggested that in the next term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hau Giang province should update, organize dissemination and seriously and fully implement the Party's policies associated with the Front's work...

“This is the fundamental foundation for the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hau Giang province and its member organizations to determine the right direction, in sync with other localities nationwide but still closely linked to the practical situation of the province.

Thereby, contributing to the successful implementation of the goal by 2030: "Hau Giang becomes a fairly industrial province of the Mekong Delta; has a synchronous system of technical infrastructure and social infrastructure; has dynamic economic, industrial and modern urban areas; cultural and historical values are preserved and promoted; national defense, security and order are ensured; people have a prosperous, civilized and happy life" according to Decision No. 1588/QD-TTg dated December 8, 2023 of the Prime Minister on approving the Planning of Hau Giang province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050", Vice Chairwoman To Thi Bich Chau emphasized.

On behalf of the Party Delegation and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Vice President To Thi Bich Chau respectfully thanked the Party Committees at all levels for always closely following, caring for, and leading the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and thanked the local authorities for coordinating and supporting the conditions for the Fronts at all levels in the province to operate effectively throughout the term as well as preparing the contents of the organization of the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province for the term 2024 - 2029.
