On his personal page, Mac Allister posted a video sharing the good news with his current girlfriend, Irish Cova. The Liverpool midfielder happily wrote: “I love them with all my heart”, while Cova emotionally said: “We always love and wait for you. See you soon, little angel”.

However, behind the sweet moment is a noisy story that has caused a stir in public opinion. A few days after winning the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with the Argentina team, Mac Allister broke up with his ex-girlfriend Camila Mayan. Notably, the model who had been with him for 5 years was Cova's best friend.

After the breakup, Mayan filed a lawsuit against Mac Allister, demanding compensation for the years she spent with him abroad. She also accused the male player of cheating on her with Cova and of not returning his personal assets.

Speaking about the incident last November, Mac Allister said: “We are no longer together. She has gone her separate ways, and so have I. It has gone to court, and now we are just waiting for the verdict.”

On Camila's side, lawyer Ignacio Trimarco said the lawsuit was filed more than a year and a half ago and the mediation process has ended.

He emphasized: "Camila does not want to make this public, all requests are personal and in accordance with legal regulations. This is a legal right for people who have lived together for more than 2 years as husband and wife, even if they are not officially married."

Meanwhile, Mac Allister and Cova's relationship is getting stronger. She was with him at Anfield for Jurgen Klopp's final game last season, as well as celebrating the 2024 Copa America championship with Argentina recently. The couple often share sweet moments together.

Mac Allister is currently focused on Argentina's preparations for the 2026 World Cup South American qualifiers. The defending champions will face Uruguay before facing arch-rivals Brazil next week. Argentina are top of the group with 25 points from 12 matches.
