Lithuania develops drone management system to ensure aviation safety

According to The Mayor EU, the company Oro navihacija has announced a new contract with the Austrian company Commonis to deploy an application called "U-Space", a system that provides information and services to drone operators via a mobile application.

"U-Space" provides information including general information, flight confirmation, traffic information and many other useful data.

Having a centralized drone navigator makes flight planning easier and the drone licensing process faster.

In addition, the application also provides information on weather conditions, allows users to observe other drone pilots, helps users pre-determine flight areas, thereby reducing the risk of collisions as airspace becomes increasingly crowded.

The number of drones in Lithuanian skies will continue to grow, whether they are used by citizens or belong to private companies or public services, said Saulius Batavičius, CEO of Oro navigacija.

Therefore, having a system to manage drone flights is all the more urgent.
