Signing ceremony of cooperation agreement between Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee and Attapeu Provincial Government (Lao PDR)

On the afternoon of March 11, in Buon Ma Thuot City, the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the two provinces of Dak Lak (Vietnam) - Attapeu (Lao PDR) took place.

Attending the ceremony, on behalf of Dak Lak province, there were Mr. Truong Cong Thai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches. On behalf of the Attapeu Provincial Government (Lao PDR), there were Mr. Thanouxay BANXALITH, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Governor of Attapeu Province, and members of the delegation.

At the ceremony, the two sides introduced the socio-economic situation and development potential of each locality. Through open, friendly and frank exchanges, the two sides signed bilateral cooperation agreements in 9 areas, specifically: On delegation exchanges; On friendly cooperation and people-to-people exchanges; Cooperation in the fields of trade and investment; Cooperation in education and training; Cooperation in the fields of agriculture; Cooperation in health; Culture, sports, tourism and information - communication; Cooperation in the work of preventing drug trafficking crimes; On local foreign affairs.

Mr. Truong Cong Thai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the signing ceremony.

Every two years, the two provinces will organize visits and work sessions between senior leaders to evaluate the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement; thereby promoting cooperation, investment and friendly exchanges between the two provinces in a pure spirit for the special friendship and cooperation of the two sides.

The establishment of bilateral cooperation between Dak Lak province and Attapeu province (Lao PDR) will open up many new opportunities and more sustainable development in the future. Thereby, contributing to strengthening the friendship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos and creating conditions for businesses of the two countries to develop together...

This Memorandum of Understanding is effective for 5 years from the date of signing, and is implemented on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and mutual benefit, within the authority and capacity of each party, in accordance with the laws of each country and international treaties to which each country is a member. The two parties agree to assign focal points to implement cooperation activities within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding.

Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee Truong Cong Thai presented a gift to Mr. Thanouxay BANXALITH, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Governor of Attapeu Province (Lao PDR).

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Truong Cong Thai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: The signed cooperation agreement will be an important basis towards strengthening cooperation for mutual development between Dak Lak and Attapeu in many fields such as education, agriculture, health, people-to-people exchange, etc. The Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee hopes that the two provinces will actively and effectively implement the cooperation contents, with the highest determination and effort, together creating many meaningful and practical achievements, contributing to bringing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to a new height.
