During the 20-year journey of construction and development, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has affirmed its important position and role in the flow of innovation, integration and development of Binh Duong province, demonstrated through major milestones.
Specifically, right from the establishment of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, in a short time on the basis of inheriting and promoting the long tradition of its predecessor fields, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Binh Duong has promoted the spirit of solidarity and unity, quickly perfected the organizational structure in a reasonable, effective and efficient manner to well perform the functions and tasks of a multi-sectoral, multi-field management Department, especially helping the People's Committee of Binh Duong province to uniformly manage the field of natural resources and environment in the province.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment also focuses on advising the People's Committee of Binh Duong province to issue legal documents under its authority, especially planning, plans, and long-term regulations on natural resources and environment management in the locality; advising on the issuance of guiding and directing documents to promptly resolve and remove difficulties and obstacles in the management of the Natural Resources and Environment sector; strengthening decentralization to localities; reforming administrative procedures, cutting down administrative procedures for people and businesses.
During the period when the country in general and Binh Duong province in particular had to face difficulties due to the impact of the global financial crisis and economic recession, implementing the policy of promoting economic development and creating more impetus for investment in economic development, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has implemented policies, laws and plans, contributing to making the Natural Resources and Environment sector an important economic sector in the socio-economic development of Binh Duong province; focusing on environmental protection associated with socio-economic development and integrating it into the planning and development plans of programs and projects.
As the world enters a period of strengthening response to the greatest challenge of humanity in the 21st century, which is climate change, restoring natural ecosystems, implementing Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW of the Central Executive Committee of the Party (11th tenure) on proactive response to climate change, strengthening resource management and environmental protection, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has also advised the Standing Committee of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee to issue an Action Program, advised the People's Committee of Binh Duong province to issue a Plan to concretize the implementation of many programs, projects, planning, plans, mechanisms and policies on response to climate change, resource management and environmental protection.
Thereby, it has created a solid legal basis for local resource management and environmental protection; mobilized all resources to respond to climate change, protect resources and the environment. From there, it has helped the implementation of Resolution 24-NQ/TW to be more favorable and effective. After 10 years of implementation, Binh Duong Department of Natural Resources and Environment has been honored to be one of the Departments of Natural Resources and Environment nationwide to be recognized, highly appreciated and commended by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for its achievements.
In recognition of the efforts and effective contributions in the management fields of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Binh Duong, many collectives and individuals of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment have been honored and proud to receive noble awards from the Party and State such as: Labor Medal, Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister, Emulation Flag from the Government, Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province.
The great achievements that the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has achieved over the past 20 years are thanks to the close leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee of Binh Duong province; the close coordination of departments, branches, localities; the consensus and support of organizations, people and businesses. At the same time, the exploitation and use of resources is also associated with environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and proactive response to the impacts of climate change.
The organization of the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment is very important, a milestone for us to look back on the journey we have gone through, the achievements and shortcomings to continue to learn from experience and move forward firmly. In the coming time, to continue to help the Department of Natural Resources and Environment inherit the achievements and meet the management requirements of the Natural Resources and Environment sector, contributing to the overall socio-economic development of Binh Duong province, Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province suggested that the Department of Natural Resources and Environment should focus on implementing a number of key tasks.

In particular, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Binh Duong continues to promote digital transformation, perfect the database, protect natural resources and environmental data in cyberspace, continuously update with the participation and contributions of organizations, individuals, and communities; ensure the provision and sharing of data for the implementation of public services for people and businesses, as a foundation for the development of digital government, digital economy, digital society, and smart cities.
