In the first 7 months of 2023, Ha Tinh's export turnover reached nearly 1,702.8 million USD, an increase of 59.65% over the same period in 2022.
According to information from the Ha Tinh Statistics Office, in the first 7 months of 2023, the total import and export turnover of the whole province is estimated at 3,807.4 million USD, an increase of 10.79% over the same period in 2022.
Of which, export turnover reached nearly 1,702.8 million USD, up 59.65% over the same period last year. Steel and steel billets alone are estimated at 1,580.2 million USD and are the item with the largest increase in turnover (67.64%) over the same period in 2022.
Steel and steel billet products had the largest increase in turnover.
According to the forecast of the World Steel Association (WSA), global steel demand will continue to increase, although the growth rate will slow down, this is still a positive signal in the import and export activities of steel and steel billets in the coming time.
Ha Tinh's import turnover in the first 7 months of 2023 recorded 1,557.47 million USD, down 2.75% over the same period last year. It is estimated that import turnover will continue to decrease as steel imports previously enjoyed 0% tax and were not subject to any trade defense measures. Currently, the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) recommends that the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Science and Technology consider developing processes and procedures for checking the quality of steel imported into Vietnam.
In July 2023, seafood export turnover increased compared to the previous month and the same period last year.
