Tien Yen is a land endowed by nature with the majestic beauty of mountains and forests interspersed with rivers. In this land, besides the famous Pac Sui waterfall, there is another ideal destination, Khe San waterfall. With its wild and poetic beauty, Khe San waterfall will bring interesting experiences to visitors.
From the center of Tien Yen district to Khe San waterfall is about 9km, following National Highway 18C towards Binh Lieu district. Currently, the road from Phong Du commune to Khe San waterfall has been concreted, making it very convenient and easy for tourists to travel.
Khe San Waterfall is still almost completely untouched by human hands. The waterfall has 2 floors, each floor is about 15m high, the water falls down to form a clear lake at the foot of the waterfall.
According to local people, Khe San waterfall creates a unique impression in each season. In the summer, visitors coming to Khe San will be amazed by the fierce waterfall with white foam. In the fall and winter, the waterfall is gentle due to the small amount of water. The most ideal time to visit Khe San waterfall is in the summer, because the temperature here is similar to Da Lat, only below 26 degrees Celsius despite the hot summer sun. Around the lake, there are many small shallow pools, suitable for bathing children when the whole family explores together.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc, a tourist from Mong Cai shared: During the recent April 30 holiday, we chose Tien Yen as our vacation destination. The most impressive thing for us was Khe San waterfall. Coming here, after climbing over the cliffs leading to the source of the waterfall, we were immersed in the cool, clear water and finally stopped to enjoy local specialties such as delicious hill chicken and sturgeon.
To serve the needs of tourists coming to visit and experience, a household has opened a restaurant with local specialties such as Tien Yen chicken, Khe snails, sturgeon, grilled local pig, local buffalo meat, nodding cake and built a stilt house and palm leaf hut for tourists to stay during the day.
To attract visitors to Khe San waterfall and other tourist attractions in the commune, Mr. Nguyen The Nam, Party Secretary and Chairman of Phong Du Commune People's Committee, said: In the coming time, the commune will develop a tourist route "One day experience with Phong Du". Here, visitors will experience the Tay ethnic stilt house, Tay ethnic cultural village with folk art performances, Tay ethnic performances, folk games, cuisine, fishing and bathing in Khe San waterfall...
It can be said that Khe San waterfall is a priceless gift that nature has bestowed on Phong Du commune in particular and Tien Yen district in general. There are no modern entertainment services, and tourism has not been exploited in a commercial way. What attracts tourists to Khe San is the majesty of the mountains and forests, the wildness of nature, and the coolness of the clear, white water in the middle of the forest. Then, every time they set foot here, visitors will be immersed in nature, leaving behind the fatigue and pressure of everyday life.
