Opening of the 2025 Citadel Festival

Dien Bien TV - On the morning of March 23, at the National Relic Site of Ban Phu Citadel, Noong Het Commune, the People's Committee of Dien Bien District held the Opening Ceremony of Ban Phu Citadel Festival 2025. Attending the Opening Ceremony were comrade Tran Quoc Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrade Lo Van Phuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; comrade Mua A Vang, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; comrades members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; and former leaders of the province. Also attending the Opening Ceremony were delegates who were leaders of a number of central ministries, branches, leaders of provinces and cities, along with a large number of people and tourists.

The 2025 Thanh Ban Phu Festival is organized in two parts: the ceremony and the festival. The opening of the festival is the performance of cultural and folklore performances such as: Dragon dance, drum performance. The ceremony takes place with sacred rituals including: palanquin procession, incense offering, reading of congratulatory messages and the "Remembering the merits of General Hoang Cong Chat" ceremony. The festival includes cultural and artistic activities, sports competitions, traditional folk games, etc.

The Ban Phu Citadel Festival in 2025 is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 271st anniversary of the victory of Hoang Cong Chat's army in liberating Muong Thanh (1754 - 2025); commemorate the 256th anniversary of the death of General Hoang Cong Chat (1769 - 2025) and celebrate the 71st anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2025).

Thanh Ban Phu Festival is an annual activity held on the 24th and 25th of the second lunar month every year, to commemorate the merits of the cloth hero Hoang Cong Chat along with generals Lo Ngai, Lo Khanh and the insurgents; At the same time, it is also a practical activity to educate the tradition of patriotism, solidarity, national pride and contribute to promoting and boosting the development of tourism, economy and society of Dien Bien district in particular, Dien Bien province in general./.
