Contribute youth to the homeland

Celebrating the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2025):

Dedicated to their profession and constantly improving themselves, the 10 individuals awarded the Ngo May Award by the Provincial Youth Union in 2024 are all exemplary models in many fields, contributing to building their homeland with passion, creativity and responsibility. Binh Dinh Newspaper introduces 3 outstanding faces among them.

Inspire passion for research

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tri (born in 1990, PhD, lecturer of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Quy Nhon University) is a person who is very passionate about teaching and research. Graduated with honors from Quy Nhon University in 2012, he continued to work at this school as a lecturer. Since then, he has continuously sought new knowledge to both pursue his passion for research and inspire his students.

Some of his achievements on the journey of conquering knowledge include: Co-authoring a university-level textbook ( Computational Chemistry , published in 2022), publishing 30 scientific articles in international and domestic journals. In addition, he is also a member of 3 ministerial-level projects, including: Research on hydrogen bonds in molecules; Research on the application of environmental treatment technology methods; Research on the properties of graphene-based monolayer films applied in smart electronic devices.

While devoting much of his time to research, Mr. Tri also focuses on teaching. He focuses on innovating teaching methods, helping students access knowledge easily, and encouraging them to participate in research; he also participates in training the student team for the National Chemistry Olympiad. In addition, he actively cooperates with experts, expanding the direction of practical application research.

Mr. Tri shared: “I always try to inspire students to explore and be creative. The knowledge they learn today will not only serve their future jobs but also help them contribute to society through their own expertise.”

Creative, responsible

Mr. Dinh Trung Khieu (born in 1990, Bana ethnic group, assistant to the Political Department, Vinh Thanh District Military Command) always excellently completes both professional tasks and union work at the unit.

As Secretary of the Youth Union of Vinh Thanh District Military Command, Mr. Khieu proactively advised and proposed many measures to innovate union activities, organized useful playgrounds for young union members in the unit, such as: Green Banh Chung Festival; the movement of Raising pigs for the sake of border and island sentiment; participated in law-learning competitions in the Military Region.

Along with that, Mr. Khieu always promotes the spirit of creativity, searching for new ways to improve the quality of training and performing tasks. He has 2 initiatives that won the provincial encouragement prize: "Multi-purpose training ground cheering" and "Music playback device serving unit activities".

Thanks to his constant efforts, Mr. Khieu has been recognized many times: the Third Class Glorious Soldier Medal awarded by the President in 2021, a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the Ethnic Committee in 2024 for his outstanding achievements in studying, training and working in 2024; the 10th National Excellent Young Cadres, Civil Servants and Public Employees Award - 2024 awarded by the Central Youth Union...

Mr. Khieu said: “Every challenge is an opportunity to practice, promote intelligence and sense of responsibility. Therefore, I remind myself to strive my best, constantly study, improve political qualities and working style; contribute to further embellishing the tradition of the provincial armed forces: Loyalty, solidarity, intelligence, creativity, determination to win, excellently completing all assigned tasks”.

Actively participate in tourism development

With more than 10 years of experience in the tourism industry, Mr. Le Duy Lan (born in 1992, General Director of Life Travel Company Limited) has constantly strived to contribute to the development of Binh Dinh tourism in a modern and professional direction.

In 2024, he was honored in the Top 10 outstanding young entrepreneurs nationwide, receiving a certificate of merit from the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association for his impressive achievements: The company achieved a revenue of 60 billion VND, contributed 3 billion VND to the state budget, and created jobs for more than 150 workers. Not only focusing on business, Mr. Lan also actively participates in social security activities, contributing 300 million VND to support the locality to share with those in difficult circumstances.

Starting his business in 2014, Mr. Lan has tried his hand at new tourism models, including Surf Bar Quy Nhon - one of the favorite destinations for many tourists when coming to Quy Nhon. The journey to start a business was not easy, but with the motto "persistently innovate, dare to think, dare to do", he gradually built his brand, making his mark in the tourism service business. Currently, Mr. Lan is focusing on developing the Life Beach Club brand, aiming to expand services towards unique and sustainable tourism experiences; at the same time, focusing on creating more jobs for local workers.

Having studied abroad in the UK for 11 years, Mr. Lan still decided to return to his homeland to start a business. For him, bringing the beauty of his homeland closer to domestic and international friends is not only the responsibility of a businessman but also the love for the land where he was born and raised.

He shared: “I always look back to my hometown, wishing to contribute to the development of the land where I was born. Binh Dinh has great tourism potential. If there is creativity and determination, I believe that tourism in my province will develop more and more strongly, becoming an attractive destination on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world.”
