This year's competition, the organizing committee received 106 projects (including 93 collective projects and 13 individual projects) from 31 high schools, multi-level schools with high school level and 9 Departments of Education and Training in the province.
The projects are in 5 groups of fields, including: behavioral social sciences; embedded systems, mechanical engineering, robotics and intelligent machines; chemistry, materials science, biochemistry; environmental engineering, biomedical engineering, animal science, plant science, computational biology and bioinformatics, microbiology, biomedicine and health sciences; and system software. Compared to previous years, this year's competition has new features in the organization, appraisal and evaluation methods, the number of projects in some fields has increased while the time budget remains unchanged.
The science and technology competition for high school students was first organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in 2013. Since then, the competition has been held annually from school level, provincial level to national level to select outstanding projects to participate in the International Science and Technology Competition (ISEF).
The competition is an intellectual playground for high school students who love scientific research to demonstrate their technical and technological creativity and apply their acquired knowledge to solve practical problems. At the same time, it encourages the development of the STEM education model and creates a foundation for future start-up activities.
