Opening of ethnic minority language training course for police officers and soldiers

On the morning of June 13, in Tien Yen district, Quang Ninh Provincial Police coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to organize the opening ceremony of the ethnic minority language training course for police officers and soldiers working in ethnic minority areas in 2023.

To concretize Resolution No. 12-NQ/DUCA of the Central Party Committee of the Public Security dated July 25, 2022 on continuing to promote the building of the Commune and Town Police force to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation with the goal of "ensuring that by the end of 2025, 100% of Commune and Town Police officers in areas with a large number of ethnic minorities will be trained and able to use ethnic languages ​​appropriate to each locality", the Provincial Public Security has coordinated with the Provincial Department of Education and Training to organize 2 training courses on Dao Thanh Y and Dao Thanh Phan languages ​​according to the framework program of the Ministry of Education and Training, to be completed before October 2023.

Students participating in the course will gain knowledge and skills in listening, writing and speaking with local ethnic minorities, actively contributing to propaganda and mobilizing people to participate in the fight against crime, eliminating social evils from the community, maintaining political security and social order and safety in the province, creating stability for economic - cultural - social development according to the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Colonel Vu Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, requested that local police should clearly understand the meaning and importance of ethnic minority language training in the current period; pay attention to encouraging and creating conditions for officers and soldiers to fully participate in classes. Professional departments closely coordinate with training and fostering centers to do a good job of managing classes according to the set plan. Students participating in the class should promote responsibility, the spirit of learning, self-training, mastering knowledge, using it proficiently and regularly applying it to practice and professional work. The Deputy Director hopes that the leaders of the Department of Education and Training will pay attention to sending teachers with a lot of experience and teaching skills, organizing extracurricular activities so that students can quickly grasp communication skills.

Currently, Quang Ninh has many ethnic groups living, of which 12.52% are ethnic minorities, but there are only 5 ethnic minorities with thousands of people or more with clear languages ​​and ethnic identities, including Dao, Tay, San Diu, San Chi and Hoa residing in concentrated communities in remote communes, extremely difficult areas, border areas and islands.
