IODT, an important step in validating equipment against new 5G specifications, determines the ability to establish and maintain a 5G connection between a base station and a device under pre-defined test conditions.
RedCap interoperability testing conducted by Keysight and MediaTek validated MediaTek 5G modem technologies supporting early identification, bandwidth portion (BWP) determination, user equipment (UE) capabilities, reduced radio resource management (RRM) requirements, network control function device synchronization signal suppression (NCD-SSB), extended reference tone (SRS) functionality, extended discontinuous reception (eDRX), and physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) for frequency hopping. 5G NR interoperability evolution testing validated the chipset’s support for features in the Rel-17 standard, including power saving, small data transmission, and NR coverage extension.
"Keysight continues to work with MediaTek to accelerate the deployment of 5G NR Release 17 by supporting end-to-end device manufacturers in performing interoperable testing with the latest innovative test solutions," said Peng Cao, vice president and general manager of Keysight's Wireless Test Group. "We continue to provide customers with flexible deployment solutions as they accelerate the commercial launch of 5G NR and RedCap devices."
