(NLDO) - Initial test results show that the bus driver involved in the accident that killed 3 people in Phu Yen tested negative for drugs and had an alcohol concentration of 0.
On February 8, the authorities of Song Cau town (Phu Yen) announced that they had received the results of drug and alcohol tests for driver Pham Quoc Huy (40 years old, residing in Gia Lai province). Mr. Huy was the driver of the passenger bus that crashed into the median strip on National Highway 1 in Song Cau town that morning, killing 3 people and injuring 7 others.

Accordingly, the test results showed that the driver was negative for drugs and had a zero alcohol level. This person also had a Class C driver's license.
Earlier at 1 a.m. the same day, driver Huy was driving a passenger van carrying 24 people on National Highway 1 in the North-South direction. When reaching Hoa Hiep village (Xuan Thinh commune, Song Cau town), the vehicle suddenly crashed into the median strip.
The accident left three people dead on the spot, including: Ms. Do Thi Kim Chi (33 years old, residing in Lam Ha district, Lam Dong province), Mr. Tran Cong Anh (23 years old, residing in Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city) and Ms. Tran Thi Song Thuong (residing in Phuoc Son district, Quang Nam province).
The seven injured passengers include: Luong Thi Diem Trinh (23 years old, residing in Ninh Hoa district, Khanh Hoa), Nguyen Ngoc Lanh (22 years old), Nguyen Thi Thanh Lan (39 years old), Nguyen Thanh Bao Ngan (17 years old), Nguyen Huu Trung (25 years old, all residing in Da Nang city), Do Thanh Long (20 years old, residing in Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam) and Huynh Thi Chinh (28 years old, residing in Can Tho city).

Regarding the passenger car involved in the accident, this vehicle is owned by CTTC NHSG Thuong Tin Company Limited (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) and leased to Tan Kim Chi Company Limited (Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City) for a period from January 2025 to July 2025; with an inspection period until December 25, 2025.
