Unemployment benefits reduced, tens of thousands of workers have new jobs

In September, the Hanoi Employment Service Center said it received 6,600 applications for unemployment insurance from workers, a decrease of 1,000 cases compared to the previous month.

The agencies have assessed and decided to grant unemployment benefits to 8,500 cases with a support amount of 270 billion VND.

Of which, from August 22 to September 21, there were 5,282 applications for unemployment benefits submitted through the National Public Service Portal, 4,075 applications were eligible for consideration and settlement.

The Employment Service Center has provided job search advice and support to over 6,600 workers, including vocational training support for 204 people with a total amount of VND 813.6 million.

In the first 9 months of 2024, the Hanoi Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs issued decisions to provide unemployment insurance to 58,925 people, with a support amount of VND 1,798.4 billion. 100% of cases requesting unemployment insurance were consulted and introduced to jobs.

Along with support for resolving unemployment insurance policies, job creation continues to be promoted.

With 20 job fairs, the Center supported 644 units to participate in recruitment with a total of 10,986 recruitment and enrollment targets.

As a result, 1,480 workers received applications and were recruited through job fairs. In the first 9 months of the year, the Center supported over 13,500 workers in finding jobs through consulting, job referrals, and job fairs.
