"As vice president of the company's union, I prioritize spending time talking and sharing with workers the "benefits" of joining the Party, such as having faith, a solid political ideal, a compass in life, and a clear direction to strive for...".
That is the sentiment of Mr. Trinh Trung Dung - Vice President of the Trade Union of Hoya Glass Disk Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Hanoi) - one of 95 workers who have just been honored as members of the Communist Party of Vietnam by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the first time in 2025.
Workers joining the Party 'get a lot'
After graduating from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, in 2011, Mr. Dung started working at Hoya Glass Disk Vietnam Co., Ltd. as a machine maintenance engineer. From the very beginning, he tried his best to show his diligence, grasp the work quickly, handle machine problems, and ensure smooth production. He was then admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam in 2014, on President Ho's birthday (May 19).
In 2024, he and the union mobilized nearly 100% of new employees to join the union, and organized many activities to increase the trust in the Party of employees, especially young people. Currently, the company's Party cell has nearly 50 official and probationary Party members.
According to this vice president of the union, workers often ask, “What do you get when you join the Party?” He did not hesitate to share that joining the Party means paying party dues, spending a lot of time studying resolutions, political training, and becoming a role model and pioneer in work. However, Mr. Dung also made it clear that joining the Party “gets a lot.”
"If we are party members, we will have strong political beliefs and ideals, a compass in life, a clear direction to strive for, and our families will be proud of us - members of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
With the advantage of the trade union being a bridge between the Party and the workers, I always show sincerity, tell the truth so that the workers trust, feel close, and from there learn more about the Party. For those who do not know, I will share, mobilize, and arouse their trust," he said.
Ms. Nguyen Thi My Linh - Juki Vietnam Co., Ltd. (HCMC) - shared: "I thought it was difficult to become a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam because it is a very sacred thing and must be very excellent workers."
When campaigning for Party membership, many workers are not enthusiastic, hesitate and ask the question "what do you get from joining the Party?". Therefore, she often convinces that everyone has their own goals and ideals, but if they become Party members, workers and employees will understand more about legal policies, and have early access to the State's policies...
"For me, joining the Party is to contribute, to train and set boundaries so that I know how to stop before temptations and wrongdoings when looking at the regulations that Party members are not allowed to do," she said.

The "innovative" tree of the rubber garden
Meanwhile, party member Lo Van Hoan - 40 years old, rubber latex harvester, deputy head of the union group of Na Say 1 Company, Tuan Giao Rubber Plantation, Dien Bien Rubber Joint Stock Company - expressed his joy at being honored.
He was born in an area with many Thai ethnic people, who lived by growing corn, cassava, raising small animals or working far away. Around 2010, the rubber plantation started recruiting people, and he and his wife became the first batch of workers.
In addition to working hard, he also came up with beneficial solutions and initiatives. Seeing that engineers had to mark tree trunks with paint every year, he suggested using white eraser to mark. The result was 1.5 times faster and 1/3 cheaper than the old method.
“Previously, spray paint would fade after a few months. Using an eraser would last for 1-2 years, which is convenient for engineers to check the area the team is taking care of because the tree area is very large (more than 345 hectares),” he said.
He then suggested planting medicinal plants under the canopy of rubber trees. This is a native plant that grows well and spreads like a bean when it grows up, keeping the garden moist and reducing the risk of fire during the dry season.
As a party member, in addition to being a role model, diligent, and volunteering to work for others to follow, taking advantage of breaks, he also whispered and encouraged everyone to work. Whoever wanted to join the Party, he would guide, support, and help the "red seeds" germinate.
"I always encourage my colleagues to work hard. I often tell stories about how the team leader introduced me to go to a Party sympathy course, more than 100km from home, but I still went, to become a Party member, have a political ideal, a clear direction to strive, and have a good economy," he confided.
According to President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang, creating resources for Party development is the task of the entire political system, including the role and responsibility of trade unions.
Especially developing party members among workers and laborers directly involved in production and business. This is a source of supplement, strengthening, ensuring inheritance, development and improving the fighting capacity of the Party.
In the 2018-2023 term, trade unions at all levels introduced over 700,000 outstanding union members for the Party to consider training and admission (an increase of 1.8 times compared to the previous term). Of which, the number of outstanding union members admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam was nearly 400,000 (an increase of 1.4 times compared to the previous term).
