This is the second year that the People's Committee of Long Dien District has coordinated with the border guards to organize a meeting and give gifts to fishermen at the beginning of the year. Mr. Lam Van Hong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Long Dien District, said that the new point of this year's meeting is that the locality has invited more units providing voyage monitoring equipment so that fishermen and ship owners can ask questions related to the technical aspects of the monitoring equipment, why the equipment cannot communicate, is disconnected, etc.
Mr. Lam Van Hong wishes fishermen a smooth first trip of the year, catching lots of seafood, especially not fishing illegally or violating foreign waters.
Long Dien District has more than 1,200 offshore fishing vessels. In 2023, Long Dien District's fishing vessels and fishermen did not violate foreign waters.
