DNVN - Stock investors are facing a "matrix" of information, making filtering extremely difficult. The market has witnessed many trading sessions with no buyers or sellers, while investors do not understand what is going on.
Sharing at the seminar “Data journalism and sustainable development of the stock market”, and launching the Financial Market Page – Fitrade data system, Mr. To Tran Hoa - Deputy Head of Market Development Department, State Securities Commission of Vietnam talked about the two-way nature of data in the current stock market. In which, investors are facing a “matrix” of information, making filtering extremely difficult.
"The stock market has witnessed many trading sessions with no buyers or sellers, while investors do not understand what is going on. For market regulators, data plays an important role in providing complete information, helping investors have a basis for analysis and decision making," said Mr. Hoa.
According to Ms. Hoang Hai Anh - General Secretary of the Vietnam Securities Business Association, primary data from management agencies is the foundation for securities companies and investment funds to continue exploiting and creating secondary data to serve the needs of businesses and investors. It is expected that there will be a unit that synthesizes these data sources, to ensure common standards of reliability, better meeting market needs.
Currently, the State Securities Commission is upgrading its information system and coordinating with relevant parties to apply technology to meet digital transformation requirements. This requires businesses to comply with mandatory regulations on data and information disclosure when connecting with the commission.
"Sometimes I only trust official data from one source and am relatively cautious with data from other sources. This poses a requirement, how to build a unified data system between the parties creating and providing data (both primary and secondary), helping investment activities become more transparent," said Ms. Hai Anh.
Assessing the emerging new data source, artificial intelligence (AI), the General Secretary of the Vietnam Securities Business Association said that AI can play an important role in providing data to the financial market. However, the question is, if AI provides incorrect data, who will be responsible?
"When AI comes into life, there needs to be a Big Data system to monitor and manage, ensuring that the information provided to investors is highly reliable," Ms. Hai Anh noted.
