On the morning of October 26, the Center for Science and Technology Information and Statistics (CESTI) organized the Techmart Biotechnology in the field of food processing and high-tech agriculture in 2023 (Techmart 2023). This is an annual event to support bringing products from schools, institutes, and technology enterprises to the market to serve the technology application needs of enterprises.
Techmart 2023 took place on October 26 and 27 at the Exchange 79 Truong Dinh, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, with the participation of 50 booths, introducing more than 100 technologies and equipment applying biotechnology to serve the field of food processing and high-tech agriculture. These include: Starch processing technology; technology for producing fermented drinks; hybridization process, improving plant varieties; new farming techniques; embryo transfer techniques, breeding, creating preparations to help plants and livestock prevent diseases, fermented wine from coffee husks...
In addition, this year, many units and businesses introduced a series of reusable products made from recycled materials to minimize environmental impact at the exhibition.

At the exhibition, the Institute of Science, Technology and Environmental Management, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry introduced wine products fermented from coffee husks. The representative of the research team said that wine is fermented from the main ingredient of ripe coffee husks with many health benefits such as supporting digestion, supporting the cardiovascular system, enhancing blood circulation... In addition, the coffee husks after being fermented into wine are composted as organic fertilizer for plants.

Phuong Lan Packaging Production-Trade-Import-Export Company Limited (Go Vap District) also brought to the exhibition products such as plastic bags, food containers, garbage bags, and biodegradable gloves.
According to Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Phuong, Director of General Company II, with biodegradable products, when used within only 6 months to 2 years under the impact of the environment, the products will self-decompose and not harm the environment. She also hopes that through the exhibition, people's awareness of the harmful effects of traditional plastic bags will be changed and they will gradually switch to environmentally friendly products.
