On April 15, the Farmers' Association of Phu Ly Commune (Phu Luong District, Thai Nguyen Province) organized a program to launch the Self-Management Group for Environmental Protection and to propagate and guide cadres, members, and farmers to classify waste at source in Dong Rom Hamlet, Phu Ly Commune.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Trinh Ngoc Tra - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Phu Luong district requested the Self-management Group for environmental protection to develop its operating regulations; fully acquire knowledge about collecting, classifying and treating waste at households.
At the same time, continue to promote the spirit of responsibility, actively implement criterion No. 17 on environment in building new rural areas; promote the role of cadres, members, and farmers in building new rural areas, focusing on classifying and treating waste in households and disposing of waste in the right place, in order to minimize the amount of waste discharged into the environment.

Building and replicating models of self-managed environmental protection groups in residential areas will help promote solidarity, raise awareness of responsibility, and create a clean living environment. Thereby, contributing to building Phu Luong district into a new rural district and Dong Rom hamlet, Phu Ly commune to meet the model new rural standards by 2024.
On this occasion, the Farmers' Association of Phu Luong district also presented 14 trash bins to the Self-management Group for Environmental Protection in Dong Rom hamlet, Phu Ly commune.
