(CLO) On February 21, the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province held a press conference to launch the writing contest "One hundred years of the best tea".
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Ta Van Loc, Director of Thai Nguyen Provincial Information Center, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, said that Thai Nguyen province currently has a tea growing area of about 22,000 hectares, with a fresh tea bud output of more than 270,000 tons and a product value of nearly 14,000 billion VND. Thai Nguyen is currently the province with the largest tea growing area and production value per hectare of tea growing land in the country.

Mr. Ta Van Loc emphasized: "The writing contest "One Hundred Years of the Most Famous Tea" aims to honor the historical, cultural and economic values of tea trees and the tea industry in Thai Nguyen province, while affirming the position of the tea industry in economic and tourism development. The contest encourages creativity, research and contributes to promoting tea production and business activities, promoting the value of the tea region and Thai Nguyen tea culture".
Regarding the content, according to Mr. Loc, the entries must be related to the people, production, processing and development of tea, reflecting the tea economy and tea culture of Thai Nguyen. He added that the contest is open to Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad, including writers, journalists, artists, photographers and those who love the value of Thai Nguyen tea. Members of the Organizing Committee, the Jury and related people are not allowed to participate.
Entries can be articles, memoirs, reports, or travelogues (not including poetry), and can include photos or short clips under 3 minutes. The work must be written in Vietnamese, unpublished, not entered into another contest, and not infringing on copyright. Maximum length is 2,000 words (if the article is a serial, maximum 4,500 words).
