Bitexco Power wants to invest in Thai Nguyen's first wind power plant project
The factory is expected to be built in several communes of Vo Nhai district including Lien Minh, Trang Xa, Dan Tien, Binh Long, Phuong Giao, Dinh Ca town and Nghinh Tuong commune with a surveyed area of about 31 hectares.
Bitexco Energy Joint Stock Company (Bitexco Power), a member of Bitexco Group, proposed to become an enterprise participating in the implementation of a 100 MW wind power plant in several communes of the mountainous district of Vo Nhai.
At the meeting on February 17 between Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of Bitexco Power, both sides affirmed that the construction of a wind power plant in Thai Nguyen is consistent with the major policies of the Party, State and Government based on practical grounds and in sync with the development situation of the electricity industry.
According to the introduction on the company's website, Bitexco Energy Joint Stock Company (Bitexco Power) was established under Business Registration Certificate No. 5100232451 at the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment. Bitexco Power's main business lines include electricity production, transmission and distribution.
Investing in the first project in Thai Nguyen may be part of Bitexco Power's goal of becoming the leading Vietnamese enterprise in energy supply.
In the Power Plan VIII, the Government has clearly stated the priority of wind power development, in which it determined that Thai Nguyen province has 100 MW of wind power potential.
In the National Power Development Implementation Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, approved in Decision No. 1862/QD-TTg dated December 28, 2024 of the Prime Minister, the list of projects includes the 100 MW Vo Nhai BPC project. The wind power plant construction project in Thai Nguyen province is also in line with the policy of developing Thai Nguyen digitally, greenly and happily.
In 2021, Bitexco Power signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chubu Electric Power Corporation (Japan) to expand renewable energy in Vietnam, continuing to pursue the goal of realizing a carbon-free society, contributing to the global decarbonization process, for a sustainable development society.
