On the morning of May 28, the Military Medical Academy coordinated with Tien Phong Newspaper to organize the 15th "Red Sunday" voluntary blood donation festival.
This is an activity within the emulation program of the Army's youth in general and the Military Medical Academy's youth in particular to achieve achievements to celebrate the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 / May 19, 2023) and towards celebrating the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948 / June 11, 2023).
Speaking at the blood donation festival, Colonel Doan Van Mau, Deputy Head of Political Department of the Military Medical Academy, said that in recent years, implementing the directive of the Ministry of National Defense on organizing voluntary blood donation in the Army, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Academy have paid attention to and directed the establishment of a Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, deployed to agencies, units, and mass organizations throughout the Academy. In which, the Youth Union members are the core force implementing this program. The Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of the Academy has regularly done a good job of propaganda and education to all cadres and Youth Union members to properly perceive the noble meaning of voluntary blood donation, to sympathize, share, and be willing to donate drops of blood to save people.
“Every drop of blood that the youth union members of the Military Medical Academy donate today is a heart, a noble gesture, a great sense of responsibility to the community, worthy of the title of Uncle Ho's Soldiers. The youth of the Military Medical Academy vows to stand side by side with the youth of the Army, the youth of the whole country to volunteer for the life of the community, to carry out the message: "Every drop of blood given, a life remains". That message contains both profound humanistic meaning and is also the command of the heart of every youth union member of the Military Medical Academy today", Colonel Doan Van Mau emphasized.
